RE: Whats the deal with the clap snap?
I guess no one wants to discus this

I noticed Texas was using 3 fast claps to signal the snap while others were using a single clap

Is it easier for the offense to hear a single clap versus a vocal hut ?

I was wondering that myself ... The only reason I can think of, is that with so many teams calling plays at the line, audibles, protections, etc.; that one way to distinguish those from a true snap count is to use the clap(s) as an indicator that the actual snap count has started (similar to baseball indicator signs) ...

RE: Whats the deal with the clap snap?
on a slap count, there is a silent count between the slap of the hands and the snap, like 1001, snap.
