Tulane lost the game by poor substitution management.

They now HAVE to beat Army to go 6-6. I'll talk more about this later.

Congrats to Navy on the win. Hats off to Tulane for making it close. I thought they had a chance to win and it looks like they almost did.

Just back from the game.
Always happy with a win. W is a W. One of those games though that was frustrating to watch - couldn't separate so nerve wracking down to the end.
Tulane defense still strong against Navy after Smart and Marley graduated. Lots of tfl it seemed. However, a lot of offensive mistakes by Navy too. Certainly miss Worth's ACCURACY, but a lot of imperfect but catchable passes dropped by Navy receivers.

Happy with Navy's defense.
Good spark when Brantley came in. His long run was an amazing late pull out if the mesh - fooled me and everyone in my section. QB controversy Tulane fans?

Navy is still solid..but..not as dangerous as in the past. The current QB is no where as good as what they have had. They dont seem to be able now to just line up and run the ball down after down and grind the clock.

No - We need Banks back. He's the only QB we have that can throw.

Play Brantley vs. OU, and don't give half the AAC tape on how to shut down Banks. Banks has rib/sternum injury, and we don't need to kill the guy.

Announcers seemed to think Banks fell on the ball awkwardly which caused rib injury.

Tulane is improving. I thought this game would be close. Sternum injuries are awful, only hurts when you breath. Good job Wave

I didn't see the game but from the final score, Tulane looks to be much improved. That's promising.

Well, we play good defense, but our O has a ways to go. A team like SMU had their O ahead of the D last year when they were probably in a similar position. We're the opposite.
And that terrible too many men on the field play, when we were going to get the ball back for one last shot....Fritz can't let that happen.
And no placekicker really hurts. Fritz has to find a place kicker (one recruiting area in which leaving the dome hurts ).

^Tulane, SMU, and UC are all on the upswing. None of us are where we need to be yet, but we all appear to be at least moving in the right direction (thanks to our AD's making the tough call when it needed to be made). Can't complain about any of that.

Coach Niumatalolo said that this game would be akin to a Navy-Air Force or Army-Navy game -- tight, hard earned yards between teams that know just what the other is doing -- and he was spot on. I'm not sure you could look at how this game played out and project how a Navy-Memphis or Tulane-Cincy game will go -- Navy and Tulane were matched up really well against each other. Green Wave is gonna cause some problems going forward.
