WMU vs. MSU
After going toe-to-toe with the Trojans of USC in 100+ degree heat, the Broncos head to East Lansing this week to take Sparty. USC could not stop the Broncos running game. Will Wassink be better in the passing game this week? The addition of Steven Clark has strengthen the D-Line. How soon will it be before the Spartan quarterback gets happy feet, trying to escape the clutches of Clark and the rest of the D-Line? Will the Broncos be playing against 2 teams once again (the Spartans and the Pig 10 officials)? Stay tuned, all these questions and many more will be answered in just 5 short days.

Ugh, yes, hadn't even thought of the officials. They will ruin any chance of getting a W.

How can you or anyone forget that when the Broncos and the rest of the MAC plays a Pig 10 team, they have to battle not only the team they are playing but also the officials?

MSU will key on the run and try to make us beat them with Wassink. The question is can sparty stop the run. I think they will do a better job than USC did

RE: WMU vs. MSU
I expect a 33-27 win. I think we'll have success running the ball early but will have to mix in more passing. I think Dantonio will challenge us with 8 in the box. I think Wassink at times will look like a new QB but will also make them pay. If Cooper is not healthy I think they have a tough time getting pressure. If Wassink has time he can get to 2nd and 3rd reads consistently. Plan on a lot of Ernsberger again and a breakout performance from one of our WRs. Another 100yd rushing performance maybe 2? Lewerke has escapability but I think we can sustain a good pass rush. We all have friends that are Spartys and I can't wait to talk trash when we win.

If we ran for 269 on No. 4, WMU should be just as capable of executing the run game plan against an unranked team. They came out of the game against BUGS with more questions than answers.

RE: WMU vs. MSU
MSU fans have delusions of grandeur. They're still smarting because the Broncos ended up in a better Bowl Game than MSU last season.
Oh, that's right-MSU DIDN'T PLAY in a Bowl Game last year!!!
Cotton Bowl for WMU, toilet bowl for the Spitoons.

I can't say right now, but as an insider, if we are behind, and find ourselves with a first down on MSU's 40...well, you'll see!

read thru a lot of it last night. Some comments are so sad they are hilarious. 1 said they now have the advantage because we "had to open up the playbook" against USC. when in reality we never went beyond plan A. More on that later. 1 thought their defense matched up more favorably against us than USCs. Some commenters are quite delusional and truly believe they have the same team from 2013-2015. I can't wait

RE: WMU vs. MSU
It's sad because they just assume MSU has more talent than Western, simply because of the jersey they wear. After watching both of these teams the past two years, let me tell you, MSU does not have more talent or depth than Western. Especially not after what happened to them over the offseason.
Even among the posters that express respect for our team, they still are under the impression that they'll win a close game because MSU "just has more talent" or other BS like WMU will be tired and drained from this past week. They think because our QB and receivers didn't rack up big numbers against #4 USC, that they will have the same struggles against the MSU defense. The same defense that is depleted by graduation, attrition and injury. MSU has walk-ons and freshmen playing all over the field.
The Spartans are in for a shock.

I completely agree.
Not only do we have a talent and depth-advantage, but we also have a huge match-up advantage.
If I'm Lester, I'd be completely fine isolating Beal and Phillips on their top wideouts, leave one safety over the top (Tranquill?) and use the other one on helping to stuff the run and occasionally blitz. We can afford to be aggressive against them. Lewerke doesn't scare me in the least.
Defensively, MSU doesn't have the talent or depth to sustain our OL and stable of running backs.
It will be tight early and in the first half, but I expect us to pull away in the 3rd on the back's of Bogan & Franklin and our OL.
