Only six POTW awards given out of a potential forty awards given out. It's really more than forty too since they believe in giving out co-POTW awards.

Do other leagues only give out the awards to their clear top team only 15% of the time?

I think it speaks more to how good this team is across the board. Stats-wise we haven't had many offensive performances that warrant player of the week. On defense every player is contributing.

Note that Trevor Knight of UNH was CAA OPOTW. Guess his injury that he suffered against the Dukes wasn't that bad. Thought he was going to be out for an extended period of time. Makes UNH chances against Elon much better one would think.

CAA Football Offensive Player of the Week
Bryan Schor, Sr., QB, James Madison (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley)

Schor accounted for 290 yards of total offense and all of James Madison’s offensive touchdowns as the top-ranked Dukes clinched the outright conference title with a 31-3 victory at No. 11 Elon. The senior quarterback rushed for a team-high 76 yards and three TD’s on only nine carries and completed 22-of-29 passes for 214 yards. It was JMU’s 10 straight road victory and 23rd consecutive win overall.

CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week
D’Angelo Amos, Fr., S, James Madison (Richmond, Va./Meadowbrook)

Amos blocked a punt and returned it six yards for a touchdown in James Madison’s 31-3 victory at Elon. It was his first career blocked kick and his first touchdown, which gave the Dukes a 24-0 advantage in the third quarter. The freshman safety also contributed two tackles on special teams

Schor hadn't won this award all season. By beating Lauletta Head to Head and finishing strong, I think the Offensive POY race has opened up a bit.

Not likely IMO. The CAA loves those Spatters and will make sure to throw them a bone in Lauletta's senior season.
