JMU versus ETSU Preparation Thread
Okay, thinking it's time we start figuring things out. It's a 6:00 PM game.

What are staples for a long day of tailgating? Personally, bringing steak tips and plenty of light beers.

What sort of festivities can we hope for? How many selfie sticks will we see for the Freshmen charge? What will the reveal be for the championship inside the stadium? Can we expect anything new in the concourse area to be revealed?

Will we actually have something in addition to Madizone productions?

Will they be selling streamers in support of a Hurricane Harvey initiative?

Do we aarrrgghh everytime we hold them to a 3 and out? The opponent is the buccaneers after all.

They put a 31-10 beatdown on an absolute powerhouse in Division II Limestone College who based on wikipedia have a newly constructed physical education facility as of 2005 and no major accolades to note.

Do we find someway to taunt the Ticks for losing to Charmin?

Have at it, it's officially opening season to see what we hope to see.

They're the Buccaneers? Seriously, a land-locked university hundreds of miles from the ocean?

What are we going to do with all these boats and hoes we're taking from these pirates and buccaneers?

It's better than their first choice of "Golden Shower".

We'll cover that. Dukes roll as this defense shuts them out until the 3rd stringers give up a late TD (which pisses off the 1st and 2nd string defenders, btw)... 70-7.

My crew doesn't normally get into the stadium until a few minutes before kickoff. This week we will get in earlier than normal to assure we are in there in time to celebrate the '16 championship team/title. I guess we'll find the schedule of events for this week's home opener tomorrow...maybe???

RE: JMU versus ETSU Preparation Thread
So...do future opponents try to stop our 4-headed rushing attack (2 or 3 of which could bust it open on literally any play) or try to take away the pass with the nation's best passer in the backfield (once he has his top receivers and TE back)? We had some of our best receiving threats out and didn't even play our best game and dominated an AAC opponent. Can't even imagine what our avg margin is gonna be this year...50 or more PF and 10 or less PA? Do we set a program record for shutouts? These are the questions racing through my head after one game haha

So what should we call this new formation? I know Madia calls it a diamond but we have to have a name that makes it a purely JMU this year type formation.

It's the "F U" formation. Would be a pretty cool chant from the fans when we line up in it.

i tried to "scout" their game on ESPN3. it's the most laughably bad thing you've ever seen, please watch like 10 seconds of it. there is one camera.... that is directly behind the play by play guy. like, he's standing in the way of the shot. no other cameras. you basically just watch the back of the play-by-play guy the entire time, and you can sssssssort of see the field.

Ha ha. I've chuckled a bit over the last couple of weeks in the various JMU FB TV debacle threads when folks have brought up "ESPN-3 quality standards". Either they must watch a whole lot of different events than I or I have watched far too much ESPN-3 (likely from obscure games, ahem, I've wagered on...*cough* *cough*) or likely both, but their so-called "standards" aren't nearly as high to qualify a game for ESPN-3 coverage as some might have you believe. The one you outline might be the extreme for the low end of expectations, but I've seen others that make the MadiZone Slide Show seem like a high-tech production. 04-jawdrop

Don't underestimate Limestone College. Limestone may end up our JMU's home schedule for the next 5 years.

Haha I've got to watch a few minutes of that. That's really bad.

RE: JMU versus ETSU Preparation Thread
Was just looking out of curiosity at the available single game tickets for the upcoming ETSU game via JMU Sports site... http://ev9.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncommerce3...Code=&cgc=

Looks like 100's-200's-300's sections are unavailable (assume sold out and/or accounted for by students)...low availability in some of the upper deck sections though none available in the middle 6 upper deck sections and low availability in Sections 6 & 8 on the east side. I hope some walk-up sales and folks buying this week get this game close to 25K. The team deserves the support coming off the win, being #1 in the nation, celebrating last year's national title, and so on. Weather - at least for now - looks like it will be a Chamber of Commerce kind of day to boot. Enjoy the moment.

It was our opener in our new stadium. Who would have thunk that ESPN is retarded enough to not even try to test their setup before the game...

Also here is a good laugh about the legend why we're the buccaneers.

http://www.etsubucs.com/fanzone/buckybio/

Also I am looking forward to this game. I am a student at ETSU and my dad is a graduate from JMU. I will call this game a win if we manage to beat the spread.

[edit] Your website for tickets shows our old blue alien logo. Plz do not think we still have this logo in use.
