Francois out for the season
deserves it's own thread-

just a huge injury. The biggest injury of the weekend I think by far. FSU is pretty much done IMO.

RE: Francois out for the season
I wouldn't count FSU out. These programs that get 5-star recruits can often slot the next guy in and keep on rolling, even a QB.

I recall last year, when LSU had to sit Fournette, they brought in Derrius Guice and he gained 180 yards. And remember when Ohio State won the national title a couple years ago? Seemed like they had a QB go down every game near the end of the season, and Urban would just bring in another 6'5" run-pass stud off the bench and they would roll on.

Thing is, as good as Francois is, it's not like he's truly a big-time QB talent. He's not a Peyton Manning, with NFL skills. It's highly unlikely we'll see him starting on Sundays when his FSU days are over. He's a system guy, and the system involves being surrounded by highly-rated recruits at all positions, so chances are the next man up can fill his role good enough.

FSU will run the ball and play defense until the QB is up to speed, and will likely win 10-11 games.

the problem for FSU is that they have now pretty close to no margin for error. They do get Miami and Louisville at home- but do have to travel to Clemson. And probably will need to beat both Louisville and Clemson to have a shot at winning the division.

That's terrible.

You hate to see anybody get hurt like that.

I'm not a fan of FSU but I hate it for the kid. I don't see them recovering to the point of getting back in the playoff hunt. That's a double-whammy loss after only scoring 7 points against Bama.

Bama lost two linebackers for the season too. Could be a Pyrrhic victory for the Tide.

I thought FSU would win. Losing to Alabama and losing the QB, 10-3 at the most.
