Could we realistically afford a buyout right now anyway?

We have very passionate fans and at this point I would be all for cancelling the $50-$60 million dollar stadium upgrades and just buy out Compher and Mo and get the right leadership in place. We can build crap later but need to invest in coaches at this point.
Amen. It's never going to happen though. The expansion was intended to be Comphers legacy from his POV. Scrapping it now would mean the arrogant ******* would have to admit he was wrong on 2 fronts.

we could buyout No but we're back to having an idiot that we CANNOT buyout hire the replacement.

Bottom line is our problem is an institutional level of incompetence.

Bottom line is we are going through what every school in this league has dealt with at one time or another. Incompetent administrators and a horrible AD.

This **** has been coming for a while now. It started when certain dipshits with big egos essentially ran Terry Holland out of town.

you missed the point, ecu the year before they joined the AAC played the trashest of schedules but you were still doing 48k a game....
if you could win vs top team or vs bad teams..everyone will chose vs top teams..

but the point is that if ecu is winning versus anyone good or bad the fanbase will show up..losing is where problem comes in....think it opposite of usf, usf is beating a bunch of teams but non of them are nationally noteworthy so the fanbase doesnt care and isnt showing..that those wins would come dramatically easier in the AAC

Enough said, good luck EZU !

Every program has a period where they get on a roll. JMU is in one. Relish it while you can. It won't last forever. Winning and losing with class however should never change. I hope JMU wins out and repeats as champions. They have a fine program worthy of praise. You however?...can go fck yourself.07-coffee3

Stop the expansion. Use the money to fire Compher (and Lebo) and start from there.

ECU smacked UNC and NC State that year...that's ALL people care about...the opponents

RE: A question for ECU fans
This has absolutely nothing to do with the conference. This is about a bad AD making bad hiring decisions.

We're about to have a Taj Mahal of a football stadium opening at the absolute low point of our program's history.

RE: A question for ECU fans
Has nothing to do with the conference pesik. Most of us we're in cusa together. Seriously how the hell is this any different? What we need is to clean house starting with the people that approved Compher's extension. That's probably impossible but it's the truth.

ECU can be successful. They just have to get back at it. The first step is getting the right guy in the front office.

+1. Get the right guy in there and ECU will be a force.

I'd take Art Briles right now.

(09-03-2017 08:21 AM)pesik Wrote:  everyone has been making the joke that ecu is bad for the AAC, as they suck in every single sport

but a legitimate question ive been thinking about.
if ecu had been passed up for usm when invitations where being handed out. ecu would have likely been a regular 9/10/11 win team in c-usa...and a regular cbi/nit team in basketball in c-usa

ecu can recruit and out talent most c-usa, but are bottom tier in the AAC..

and if you really pay attention to ecu fans they just care about winning and not as much about the opponents ..theyd be 50k strong and happy if they were the c-usa top dog (probably trash talking how they could beat anyone in the AAC)

the year before ecu joined the AAC, the ecu fans were hyped beating over-matched c-usa teams, a year later on a "better team" didn't do so great in the AAC and so began the downfall and ecu fan despair..i guarantee they'd have been happy finishing top 25 vs overmatched c-usa that year
..and ecu isnt some recruiting juggernaut you could argue theyd be better recruiting as the top dog in c-usa than a bottom feeder in the AAC

is the grass not always greener? is the AAC bad for ecu?
That's a really long question.

If we are going slime balls, might as well grab a player beater like Leach or Levitt. Better than the hug em up approach. Our guys got man handled like the momma's boys they are last night.COGS
