G5
Worst opening weekend for G5 ever?

While the SBC had a rough weekend so did all the other G5 conferences.

RE: G5
Could be wrong, but isn't Colorado State over Oregon State the only G5>P5 victory this year...?

RE: G5
What is this G5 you speak of?

I'm more focused on the G4.

It cant widen further as each team can only take 25+/- kids a year. One week is hardly a sample size.

I won't crap on P5. I sat, drank a few beers and cheered, yelled, spit and cussed for the Gamecocks to beat NC State. They did. It is what it is. Just enjoy your team and root for them.

The talent gap can absolutely widen, regardless of the number of kids taken.

It's about the talent level, not talent quality.

Though I don't know about the gap growing that much this year as opposed to last year. I think the matchups were just not set up for G5 to be successful.

Honestly, they rarely are . . .

P5's typically beat G5's

G5's typically beat FCS . . . though FCS teams certainly have a better shot at the upset, as the talent gap is less. . .

Most P5's will be made up of decent three star kids as usual and going forward. The top 15 P5 maybe pulling away bit but not most of the P5. If we have a five year stretch where the win total is decreasing then you might have something to base a statement on. This is like when the FCS got off to a good start last year people get excited and the results ended about where they always do.

I would say Yes! FCS that a strong opening week!

FCS Wins Against FBS

17 Tennessee State- 10 Georgia State

34 James Madison-14 East Carolina

48 Liberty-45 Baylor

43 Howard-40 UNLV

G5 Wins against P5

Week 0
27 Oregon State- 58 Colorado State

Week 1
None!

FCS almost had a lot of close games that should have been wins!
