Great day
I mean toe to toe with the number four ranked team in the nation. It was heat and depth at the end and a pass that should have been caught for a garbage score.

VERY EXCITED about Wassink, the coaching staff, the football team. I mean that was impressive. Plus watched my son perform as a freshman in the Bronco band tonight at Waldo...so I am fired up for the next few years.

As Dunn liked to say, "It's a great day to be a BRONCO"

I don't see another team on the schedule that they can't beat. Just need steady improvement from Wassink all year long.

Don't believe in "moral victories" but very proud of effort team put forth Saturday. Final score not indicative of competiveness of game.

My either. Proud of the effort, but it's still 0-1. Doesn't mean a lot if they don't come out, beat MSU and go on to be MAC champs. That's the goal.

They have the talent to do it.

I'm sorry, but if there was ever an exception in the use of that term, your players earned it. Your team's performance earned the respect of our players, coaches and fans. Make no mistake, your kids played tough, clean and with hearts of a champion.

We knew it would be a tough game, our coaches and players emphasized that...you don't win 13 straight games and not be a dangerous team.

Have no doubt you will win out the rest of the way. You gained Trojan fans who wish you the best of luck, and that you win out the rest of the way.

Fight On!

RE: Great day
Great game.

I was worried that Lester would revert to pass happy/ Cubit 2.0. He did not.

I am absolutely thrilled about our running game. Looks like the same OL from last year. 265 yards of rushing at USC!! Very thankful Lester & Co didn't fix what wasn't broke.

We will absolutely contend for the West title this year. Depends on our D and what will probably come down to a few plays at Toledo.

I'm jacked about this season...

I was thrilled with how Wassink played yesterday. I can see why he won the starting job. He still has a ways to go, but the biggest question mark seems to be showing us he is up to the challenge. I expect the coaching staff to expand the playbook next week. Could have done without all of the false starts. Need to clean those up.

Comment from a Spartan who is also a Bronco fan.........

"Toledo had better be really good......."

Anxious to see how this team jells. They exceeded my expectations yesterday with their play and I can't wait to see how we fare against our MAC schedule. There isn't a team on there that I really fear. That doesn't mean we will steamroll the MAC - there will still be tough tests from the usual suspects but the bottom of the league doesn't seem to have improved much, if at all if week 1 results mean anything.

As for Bronco nation - if THAT GAME yesterday didn't get your juices flowing and motivate you to get you and your family's butts to Waldo this season, not much will. There are reasons to believe that this staff and team is going to continue to play at a high level and really contend for MAC titles this year and moving forward. The old days of being a contender and tantalizing us then falling short year after year might just be receding into the rear view mirror.

PJ changed the culture and last year we took advantage of an easier schedule and caught lightning in a bottle. Lester and staff took the reigns this year and have served notice that this team is legit. They didn't try and fix stuff that is not broken. They are stacked with talent, have a great work ethic and attitude, are not intimidated by a venue or an opponent and refuse to do the easy thing when things get tough. I liked Wassink's calmness yesterday, even though I'm sure he had major butterflies.

Now, let's see some improvement next week. We have a legit shot at MSU.

NIU is going to be a challenge this season, game is at Dekalb as well with the following week at Toledo.

I'm impressed thus far, but we have a lot of jelling to do before November to make it a repeat championship season. WRers are a work in process.

Surprised, delighted, and extremely impressed at how well our guys played in that season opener against such a highly ranked opponent on their own turf. Fasten your seat belts. I have a feeling this is going to be another fantastic season for our Broncos!!
