Despite a nice 41-yard TD run by Lawry, our running game looked pretty darn anemic last night. The O-line struggled against a D-line the Monarchs should have been pushing around.
Blake LaRussa, our new QB, had an ok night going 14 of 20 (70%) and one TD. However, he did throw two interceptions, one of which was a duck after getting hit in the back while throwing. The second one was all on him, trying to force a throw into tight coverage. Jordan Hoy, our JUCO transfer and No. Two QB got a couple of series and went 4-6. Overall I was pleased with QB play.
D-line had an up and down night. Albany rushed for more yards than we did, but we did have seven sacks.
Kicking and punting games were strong. Cate averaged 50.8 yards on five punts, Rice was perfect on four PATs and one FG, and Davis had four touchbacks on six kickoffs.
Most of the first half was played in good weather, but the second half was played in a steady rain. All in all, it was a lackluster win against a team I fully expected us to beat going away, and the Monarchs definitely have some things to clean up this week before going to Amherst Saturday.

Agree with most excpet that our DL dominated them. 7 sacks and a bunch of hits. They had no time to throw. They didnt really run well except 2 long runs. One of them by QB on a pass rush when we were in man and tbey had no one on that side of field. Other one was on a safety not making tackle in his gap. They did have a good drive when a mixture of DL 2/3 were in.
