Looking forward, what can this team do?

EIU - I look for them to play well enuf to give Santa at least a quarter of action. If that doesn't happen, we'll struggle to be 6-6.

Assuming a win, then, can we steal a game against :
- Nebraska? No way.
- SDSU ?- hmmm...think odd stuff, an injury for them, a break for us...seems the power rankings pre season show SDSU only a bit above BC. I put this in the "can we steal it?" pile.
- Toledo ? I bet they are too strong for us.
- WMU ? Put this game in the "can we steal it?" pile, too much change there to be consistent. I hope.
Of the not-listed 6 MAC games, we can't realistically think to win all 6, we'll lose only 1 if we're any good.

That gets us to 7-5, or 6-6, and into small bowl game, and hopefully against a team more in our caliber so we're not blown out.

There is talent on this team, especially the D. Could be a winning season with improved QB play. Dont think that will come from Graham though.

You might move the WMU game to the No pile with Toledo if the first quarter vs USC is any indication. They just crushed the USC QB on a blitz. Then drive 60 yards for a td. Not that this game will not get away from them, but their new QB wassink looks sharp and confident.

WMU running at will on USC. 80 yds and counting in 1st quarter. 2 min still

I flipped on the WMU game, they hung with USC for most of it. WMU didn't seem out of place there.

Toledo opened against the powerhouse Elon somethings, and surprise, won by 34.

I might agree with Mr Squirrel, WMU is too strong to put on the 'we might steal the game from them' pile. Sigh.

But, I still say SDSU is the one we target to take...no more Pumphrey. And they have to play Stanford, ASU and Air Force before us, we'll get a real good indication of their skill. They play Air Force and that odd triple option offense immediately before NIU, maybe SDSU forgets how to defend the pass after Air Force...a man can dream, can't he???
