More competitive than we want it to be, but not more competitive than we think. I still have flashbacks to the Western Illinois game, except we don't have Maddie around to attempt to pull the game out.

Noticed they got some former SEC, ACC, Big Ten, CUSA players along with
the 2 NIU players on their roster. Players from all over the country.

Our fans are pretty lousy unfortunately and it hurts to say that since I'm a die hard. BC did make the stipulation that they wanted Friday and tv so we got screwed on the time. Many students wouldn't have stayed for Saturday. As for everyone saying if Lynch was playing we would have been full, go back and check the attendance during our MAC dominance run. I believe we still only averaged 15-17 k. Granted there were many maction games but we still didn't draw well.

In 2013 when Lynch was getting Heisman hype we had 2 sellouts. The only ones we've had for more than a decade. Saturday games, of course.

I agree that NIU alumni in general simply suck. Bunch of lame asses convinced by the media that only football factories count. But the vast majority of people on this board were at the game or are far removed from Dekalb.

I was talking to a few people in the HAF tent before the game. There is no question in my mind that the fan base has been lost because of the midweek games. These are people who have been avid fans and now attend only a couple games a year. They were all complaining like crazy.

Yea I'm sure that's a lot of it. Sure some other teams around the country play an occasional weeknight game and they do okay attendance-wise. This is different. This is multiple games, every year, for a decade. Enough to kill your season ticket fanbase.

No doubt about it, but shhhhhh its a good thing, a few HS kids in Florida have seen us on ESPNU and thought "I would love to be a Huskie"

If you're anything like me, you'll do the same thing I did after the loss to Western last year...drink until feelings become a distant memory :(

12,000 will show.

Hope we draw better than that for an instate opponent. Last night's crowd was terrible for bringing in a big name opponent. I am sure Frazier is frustrated after listening to what so many said they wanted, making it happen and then drawing a small crowd even with all of the special promotions.

I guess playing so late on a Friday night did not help but I still felt there should have been 20,000 for a game like BC.

In state means crap, get a good opponent, on a Saturday.

BINGO. Despite what all of you on this board think , it is not about who we play as much as WHEN. I keep saying that those of us who love Huskie football just want to go see our team play. The average NIU fan wants to go to see NIU play on a Saturday - as college football should be. Tailgate, enjoy a beautiful fall day & watch their Huskies. Most don't give a rat's butt who the opposing team is because it doesn't matter to most people.
Weeknight games have killed & continue to kill our fan base.

How many season ticket holders did not renew due to this year's schedule of only 2 Saturdays?

I won't be renewing next year if there are 2 or fewer Saturday games.
