First game as an FBS member

UMass isn't great, but they aren't horrible. Following Coastal only skin deep, it seems like the team doesn't know what QB to play, who is going to replace Henderson's production, and really what form the offense as a whole is going to take. That doesn't mean they won't be successful, but there will be kinks to be ironed out the first few weeks.

Bring us home that out of conference win!

People on here talk about ULM like we're the worst program in college football but we have like a 42% winning in the SBC (not bragging about that but it's not a 18%). These dudes win 10 games in 5 years and they're not horrible?? Not saying you said anything about ULM but jeez I don't get it. You're kidding right? UMASS is horrible!!!!

From a site that list Gillette as our home and leaves a 106 year gap between 1906 and 2012.





The fan base is getting tired of close losses, which could have been wins. Many consider this a must win game, but the odds makers have it pretty close to a toss-up. Many thought we should have won last week and since we did not, they think nothing has changed. All I'll say is we lost 35-38 to a 7 win G5 team.

So is the site lying about your record since 2012? Is 10 wins false for 5 years? If it is feel free to call me out!!It's not a FCS site. ULM has from 1994 and some random years in 70 before FCS.

Three teams from the Sun Belt will be playing us this year. Let's see how it all plays out. The great divided did not happen until 1977 in division 1, not 1906. We played Boston College at home and had 20k, we played Eastern Carolina in the Tangerine bowl etc.

This has been addressed many times and not going to derail this thread. We have have three games against the Sun Belt for your enjoyment. First one is tonight against Coastal.

Lets chill it with the UMass wins since 2012 talk. Pointless argument on gameday. Unfortunately previous results are not taken into account when a game is played.

I look forward to our first game as an FBS team. The first FBS home game. First game representing the Sun Belt. So much to look forward to today. While I see a weak Umass team. I see a team and fan base that is hungry for a win. It's easy to assume that since we are the new kid on the block and we have never won an FBS game this will be an easy game for them. Look forward to seeing the results because so much is unknown.

Put it this way: UMass has lost a ton of games, 50 in the past five seasons to be exact, but many of those games were at least competitive. They've been "horrible," based on their record, but when App plays at UMass later this year, based on how they've not been an easy out for their opponents, I will consider them dangerous.

Does that settle it?
