I WAS counting on 4-5 wins this year, and then 7-8 wins next year... But... This game?

I'm not so confident.

I think next year add a year 4-5 2018 7-8 2019

No way he was ever going over .500 this year.

Ooohhhh Hell to the No . . .

Before the season started I said this was our only win I expected. We will be underdogs all year. Teis has to go before any sports program gets decent.

Finally a Final: TXST 20, the fightin' Huskies of HBU 11. . . .

I hope HBU goes 11-0 the rest of the way, cause we sure made them look like world beaters most of tonight . . .

Many a Bobcat has come to this conclusion . . . many came to it years ago, when the world was young . . .

Strangely, the Powers that be have yet to get a clue . . .

Withers has until 2018 or 2019 for me since he took the long rebuild approach. But if he got fired I wouldn't blink an eye.

Even fran handled our FCS opponents... And he had a "mostly FCS" roster when we transitioned.

I mean we handled out FCS team last year. Doesn't mean squat. We also have 75-76 guys on scholarship. Same as a transition team. Basically, we are back to 2012.

Those guys beat 3 FBS opponents.

And played Nevada, San Jose, Navy and a ranked Louisiana Tech close. That was five years ago... Have had 5 years recruiting at the FBS level now and this team couldnt beat the 2012 transition squad. That is coaching

Was that the first full year? Then that was 85. I know we struggled and one like 5-6 games in our transition year with a mostly Southland schedule.

Went 6-6 our last year with an FCS schedule in 2011

In 2012 we went 4-8
We upset Houston. Beat SFA, Idaho and blew out NMSU.
We also had close games against UTSA, Nevada, San Jose State, Navy and even pushed a ranked Louisiana Tech to the wire.

We probably do have talent issues. We did then too... Us only beating a mediocre southland team by 9 today is heart and coaching. No way around it.

RE: OFFICIAL GAME THREAD: Houston Baptist at Texas State
A few thoughts:

Already stated but last season took a toll on attendance. I assumed everyone would have hit restart but I was wrong. There couldn't have been 14k people in the stands.

After they easily scored on us on the first drive I figured they'd put up 50 on us. Our defense however adjusted and shut them down for the most part after that. I know it was against HBU but it's a start. Hopefully we can build on that.

Our O-line is young and it showed. We got no push. It seemed like we could put up 3 or 4 yards every carry but that was it. We won't be able to do even that against FBS schools. Colorado will manhandle us next week.

Our WRs looked great.

Williams was very solid. Did a great job of buying extra time. There were a few more times when I wish he would have ran up the middle, but I like that he doesn't immediately look to run.

Obviously not a win to feel good about. But at least we didn't lose our FCS game.

Sorry Mom.

It’s Houston Baptist. 9 point win is inexcusable.

Last year, we were awful.

This year, I think we'll just be REALLY bad.

But still... We didn't lose to an FCS team, which was one of my markers for a non-debacle season.
