A radio ad and some stickers are a strategy to obtain a super major conference upgrade?

As the old saying goes ...

You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all the people all the time.

if the G4 is fooled the campaign is a success. 05-stirthepot 05-stirthepot 05-stirthepot

We clearly got in the heads of g4 commissioners.

A few of you definitely fall into the "some of the people" category. Delusions of grandeur.

What's a g4? Is that some new Porsche model?

Welcome back to our board haters! Do you get many of us on the CAA baord?

Relevance?

Hint: ODU isn't in the CAA and hasn't been for years so I wouldn't have an answer for how many of you frequent the CAA board.

As for the "haters" comment, someone trying to help a person to stop doing drugs doesn't hate them even though the drug abuser doesn't want to hear of it.

While I don't care at all about this argument, I am always glad to hear something similar to the bolded above.

Sounds like you have a personal story that relates to that. Wishing you the best.

RE: Pow6r Update (power 6)
AAC programs are easily on par with 80% of most "P5 conferences". No one can argue that programs like Vandy, Wake, Illinois, Indiana, Northwestern, NC State, Boston College, Syracuse, Iowa State, Kansas, etc etc etc are any stronger than most AAC programs.

We share way more in common with those programs than those from the MAC, Sun Belt or CUSA.

The SEC at large is different but they're above most every other P5 program too.

I'd say *some* AAC programs are on par or close to about 20% of P5 programs and within striking distance of the middle tier of the B12, PAC, and ACC.

P5 Bottom 20%: Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Purdue, Indiana, Maryland, Virginia, Wake Forest, Duke, Boston College, Syracuse, Oregon St., Washington St., Kansas.

Virginia Tech, Oregon, Iowa, Oklahoma St., and Missouri are average P5 programs. They all easily have better programs and followings than even the top AAC programs.

Missouri and VT- stick them in the AAC and their following would be nearly the same as our top schools.

If there was simply a viable path to a national title for the AAC schools our followings would be much larger. It's hard to sustain large followings when there is hardly any real way to reach a championship in the friggin division you play in.

This is why the P5 aholes will fight to NEVER allow an expanded playoff with autobid for at least one G5. It would simply start funneling too much of their prized money to other programs.

Lets see how excited Mizzou or Va TEch fans would be if they all of a sudden played in the MAC. No big marquee home games, not playing for an auto bid to a big boy bowl, and your home slate is now EMU, Kent, and etc. Media coverage of your team/conference all of a sudden disappears. Money dries up, bowl line up sucks, recruiting takes a major hit etc.

Bet these programs would look a LOT different in just five years.

Get the point?
