RE: CAA Football
Either JMU's offense is a car shredder or NSU's defense isn't very good.

Not a matter of class or no class. I just think that JMU can score every time they touch the ball. Schor only played the first series of the second half.

Sure you can. Don't have your backup QBs throw 11 times in the second half for 107 yards and a TD.

I spent a couple times on our sideline where we could have put up 60+ and we just ran the ball and punted.

And I feel for you living out that way and having to hear about JMU athletics all the time. 03-wink

Well, if you want your backups to get game experience, that's what you do.

I am far from a JMU fan, but you can't argue that they play hard and play to win every down.

Yeah, it's not easy, especially when they are this good.

And, it's cool you were a player. When?

I wasn't a player but I worked with the team from the 92-96 seasons as a student.

Nice. That must have been fun. I figured you were one of the starters who was riding the bench during our blowouts. 04-rock

URI beat Harvard. Either URI is improved or Harvard is really a disaster.

Every CAA team, except UNH, won today, most big.

Including Elon over a ranked Charleston Southern team, and Towson over a good St. Francis team.

JMU announced yesterday that they have lost their #1 running back, senior Cardon Johnson, for the season with a "lower leg injury". He had 347 yards in three games. He was hurt in the Norfolk State rout.

RE: CAA Football
Interesting week in the CAA. While anything can happen each week we can get a glimpse of what's ahead as we enter CAA play.

Elon upsets Charleston Southern takes on Richmond. No, Charleston S. is not Richmond, but let's see what kind of game the Phoenix gives the Spiders.

Stony Brook takes on Towson. Both seem stronger than last year. This will provide some good film for our team to study. I believe each will have to use everything they have to win the game.

So at least for next two opponents we can get a little clearer picture of what it will take to have success and begin 2-0 in the CAA.

I don't know. How does Towson only put up 10 against Morgan State and need OT to take care of Saint Francis? EDIT: Correction: Needed last second FG.

I feel like Towson is as bad as it's ever been (and it has been bad), but we shall see.

St. Francis was a playoff team last year, and is 2-1 after falling by 2 to Towson.

RE: CAA Football
I think we have two really interesting games among others this week:

URI at UNH: A Ram win would signal a long awaited return to competing in league - and a mortal wound to UNH and their run of upper tier finishes.

Villanova at UAlbany: It will take a win like this to move the Danes into a serious contender vs that other expansion team from NY.

Also - Maine and JMU. The Bears seem to be that one team from New England who come into CAA games south with a fearless abandon. It will be interesting to see how competitive they really are - or is this just another blowout in Harrisonburg.
