Rent-a-QBs are risky. I'd rather go the Terrell and Wassink routes. Might take a few lumps early on, but I like the idea of developing QBs and the continuity it provides for 3+ years.

Exactly. And Poljan is only a redshirt freshman. 4 years of eligibility ahead of him. DEVELOP HIM! Or don't. What do I care...it's Central...

They pulled Poljan because he was aweful and brought back the experienced not any better, 5th year retread, who did his best to give it away.

Austin Doan is "supposedly" an All MAC center. He was terrible.

Bono is a terrible coach and an even worse recruiter. Please keep him 01-scout

Jayhawks sucked but beat RI 55-6 last season. Good luck in Lawrence.

RE: CMU vs Rhode Island Red
There's actually some hope in Lawrence these days. David Beaty has recruited very well there the last 2 years. (At least very well by KU standards.)

They should crush the Chimps.

Gotta look at the big picture though. We ought to be rooting for CMU hard in every non-conference game they play. The MAC has taken enough embarrassment OOC in the last few years and it gives the "yeah, but they didn't play anybody" types more fodder to use against the MAC's top tier when bowl selection time rolls around.

Buffalo balanced things out tonight with a solid effort in Minneapolis. A much improved squad defensively from the looks of things. Toledo held serve like it was supposed to.

OK -- I was focused about Ohio State vs Indiana -- and then some a-hole tells me about CMU. I'm like "Yeah, so? Listen... there's --". And then that.

OMG. Buffalo did awesome. Why would I even Worry about CMU hurting our Conference? But OMG -- Turnovers were falling out like virginity's out of Welcome Week there! Jesus!! D1AA!?!

OKAY, Chips. Credit for not blowing it. In ***3OT***!!!

Hopefully NIU does very well against BC, and BSU against Lovie & the Illini......

Exactly. The MAC will never get respect until teams start winning OOC and bowl games.

Regardless of how you feel about CMU, that performance made the MAC look bad. They lucked out a 3OT win over a TERRIBLE Rhode Island team. Rhode Island threw SIX F$&@!NG interceptions!!!! No way that game should have been close.

There are 12 teams in the MAC. It's perfectly fine to want one of them to crash and burn forever and still hope the conference does well.

Speaking of risks. 6'7" QBs rarely get it done. There are two in the NFL, both busts. Paxton Lynch and Ryan Mallet. Poljan has a long armed slow delivery. He totally locked in on his receiver. The kid had big offers to play TE/DE at Nebraska and MSU. He and his dad envisioned Tony as the next Rothlensberger, who OSU wanted as a TE.

I envision him changing positions at CMU, or transferring to MSU as a TE.

I agree and that is why I personally do root for WMU (minus against MSU) in OOC. Most of the MAC cannot win their OOC games. While CMU has not been great since the 2009 season, we have still beaten Iowa, Purdue, Oklahoma State, UNLV, Western Kentucky, and all 8 of our FCS opponents. I'm ok with us beating up on each other, as long as we take care of business in the non-conference.

FCS teams beat FBS teams 10 times last season, the MAC lost 4 of those..... That is embarrassing unless it's against a top team. And yes, the MAC always seems to eat **** in the bowl games.
