They have a ton of FBS and JUCO transfers that are supposedly an upgrade in talent from years past. Still not going to be a very good team this year, but I think they are headed in the right direction.

As for Cincinnati's performance, I'm going to try not to blow it out of proportion. As bad as it was, we never trailed and were never really in danger of losing in the 4th quarter. Our normally reliable kicker missed a chip shot field goal and an extra point, so it really should have been 30-14.

We are going to struggle to score this season. We have a QB who is experienced, but limited in what he can do. And our offensive line is not good at all. I expect our defense will be respectable, but we are going to lose a lot of 24-10 types of games unfortunately. The positive on offense is that we did not turn the ball over, and I do think we will turn the ball over less this year. My original prediction was 6-6, which I knew was on the optimistic side. From what I saw tonight, I think this is more of a 4-8 type of team, but the season is very young.

I think UC could have easily lost that game. Austin Peay killed several of their drives with penalties. They went for a 4th a 1 at the goal line at the end of the first half and the UC interception saved the day there.

With 3 minutes to go Austin Peay was within the UC 5 yard line close to making it 26-21. Fortunately UC stopped them there.

APSU dominated the TOP and stats. It was discouraging to say the least.

UC had no answer when their QB's decided to run. If the Bearcats don't get that fixed teams with running QB's will kill them.

UC's QB situation is not good.

I do expect to see improvement over the season but it does look like it will be a long one.

Exactly! It's very difficult for teams that used to be in a top conference to get up for FCS teams and American teams. Wait until they play Bama, the sleeping giants will awaken and emerge victorious.

Regardless of my witty biting posts, I must agree. 1st game and Cincy won it. Not pretty but won it.
