Ask anyone on the forum who is acting like they have arrived. Yes ODU hasn't done anything significant but wtf has WKU done? don't tell me you have won back to back championships of CUSA and that's enough. That means nothing to outsiders and you had your share of terrible years obviously not in this conference but you did so stop acting like WKU means anything in the grand scheme of things.

There's not a team in this conference that means anything to anybody other than their own fans. You're deluded if you think ODU will ever cross that threshold. Sailor U is what it is. No more. No less. Same with Western. But go back and look at that score in the video. That's what drove the whole fight. Your boys were getting their assses handed to them. They came into that game thinking 1st place was on the line and nothing could have been further from the truth. Second place was on the line. But 1st was a foregone conclusion 5 minutes into the game. Hell, it was a foregone conclusion when Jeff Brohm told you where to take your hand-holding. Lol.

LOL Sailor U then what is WKU? GoatBanger U? If you think the score is what caused it then you can't be more wrong. We have had our asses handed to us before and badly at that but that didn't cause a melee. Its the over blocking and pushing even after the whistle was blown that has caused this after a couple of chippy plays. Laugh all you can and enjoy it while it lasts because there isn't a better carousel than college FB. I am not a big fan of that hand holding either but it means something to college kids well not at WKU but others. Anyways looking forward to welcome WKU to the Tidewater in a proper way.

Can you read? What did I say about WKU? Just in case you can't I'll spell it out again I don't think WKU has arrived. Yes we have actually won for just a few years but odu hasn't done anything at all... if odu gets top 3 in the eastern conference I'll be shocked

I certainly can but the question is can you? I didn't claim we have arrived and none of the ODU posters did so what made you think we claim we have arrived. Get ready to be shocked then.

Can you read?

The east division is largely viewed as a three team race with Middle and Western expected to decide the division, but outside of scattered talk of Joey Freshwater's Last Chance Owls, ODU is the only other team getting any division championship talk.

Does that mean they definitely finish in the top 3? No, of course not, but I can't see how a top three finish for ODU could be described as shocking.

RE: Still doing circle of unity?
This is really stupid to re-hash again. Both teams were at fault, if you think the "fight" started at the ODU sideline, you didn't watch the game before that. There were a lot of dirty/late hits, shoving, trash talking, etc. Im not proud of how the guys responded, I wish they would have been the "bigger men" and let the cheap shots go.

As to the Circle of Unity, I think it is a great gesture. It isn't phony and isn't designed to protest against any group of people. If the opponents want to join, then great; if not, no one says they have to join. It is a sign of unity to show that people of all races/backgrounds can get together and join hands. If thats not your cup of tea, sobeit. I would much rather see that than players kneeling during the National Anthem.

As many of us on the East Coast are aware, a new dangerous hurricane will be threatening the US next week. Hurricane Irma is now a category 2. As a public service announcement, I have posted the current path and projected path to ensure everyone stays updated on this dangerous storm.

That's pretty funny. I chuckled. I agree that YG is solid. But you might not like his take on what happened in the ODU game if he weighs in on this thread.

Our players hit through the whistle. They've been doing it since Willie Taggart was driving the Willie bus. Willie's an old Florida boy and that's the way the game is played down there. Our players are taught to hit through the whistle. We don't pull our arms back in a 'I didn't do anything' fashion. That is football.

Maybe not on the genteel East Coast but it damn sure is in the South. It's kinda served us well the last several years so I hope this new coach doesn't change it and try some phony gimmick like Wilder did when he got his feelings hurt about other coaches complaining.

Again, kudos on the graphic. Any time you get so far under the skin of an opponent they take the time to make something up like that photo you've done your job.

No worries, all in good fun. Best of luck until our Friday night brawl, where I wish a raging case of pink-eye for all of your players, fans, parents, and their co-workers; particularly for that used tampon you call a mascot.

RE: Still doing circle of unity?
I'm just ready to watch some football......hopefully winning football. Hell if I could talk my son and his friends (all of mine are too old) into going to the park and getting a football game going. I would do it in a second. Freaking young people...23 to 26 years old and they are afraid they will get hurt. I'm ready for the season to start!

As for ODU vs Western things like last year builds rivalries (same as Marshall 3 years ago) and in a conference this spread out and mostly young programs with very little history. A fight every now and then can jump start one. For the most part these aren't "the good kids" we recruit, they been trained to hit people as hard as they can since the age of 6 for most of them. Hard turning that off and on.

With that...**** happens! I'm sure these players are a lot like I was growing up, at least I hope they are. I can be your friend before and after but once we start to play. I f'ing want to kick your ass and beat the hell out of you!

The one thing I'm 100% sure of about Western @ ODU...I'm going to enjoy the hell out of fishing the bay for 2 days. But I will leave some for the ODU fans. I catch and release 95% of the time. I will be keeping a one day limit...for a local "soup kitchen" in the area . I would love to be able to sit down with them and enjoy it. But I will be watching Western kick some butt on that Friday evening.

It's Thursday...only a few hours away from kickoff.

Go FIU!

I heard that.

ASN has been playing reruns from games last season. Which other than just being a great FB "fix" for me is kinda cool because they speed up the game. No injury time, no timeouts, no half-time. Just the plays. I watched UNT vs SMU recently (which my wife thought I was crazy cause I was rooting for UNT) and MT vs LT (great game).
