This is getting scary, criminalizing speech some consider offensive.

Use wrong pronoun for transgender senior citizens in California and go to jail

If passed, it would be blatantly unconstitutional and overturned.

Best response to this I ever heard was from a friend of mine who is trans, but he lives outwardly as a male because he doesn't feel its everyone elses responsibility to change how they feel to make him feel better.

He had a short discussion with someone in a Starbucks after she yelled at someone for using the wrong pronoun. The conversation went a bit like this.

Quote:My friend: You are saying that someone using the wrong pronoun is hurtful and injures you?
Them: Yes.
My friend: You are absolutely certain about your identity?
Them: Yes, absolutely.
My friend: You are so certain about who you are as a person that your own body doesnt change how you feel?
Them: Yes.
My friend: So you are so confident in your gender that the fact that you have a v*gina doesn't make a bit of difference in who you are?
Them: Yes, I hate that I have it, but it wont change my view of myself and who I am.
My friend: That's awesome, but I have a question, if even your own physical body that you have lived with for around 20 years can't change how you feel about who you are... then why does a pronoun?
My friend: How can three letters affect you more than your own body?
Them: [Blank Face]
