When the bill was being pushed and people like Jordan Peterson spoke out against it they were assured that this would not criminalize speech. But surprise, they are going to make it illegal to "misgender" someone.

Yeah, well, it seems they're OK with illegal immigrants flooding across borders as long as it's not THEIR borders.

Well then, everyone in Canada should be named Pat and they should drop all pronouns. That way they can't miss.

I did have one give me some trouble at a gas station in Kentucky once. The clerk was maybe 5'7" and 120lbs had long stringy hair and a scraggly goatee, kinda like what you see when a teenaged boy tried to grow his first. When I was handed my change I said "Thank you sir" and the clerk said "I'm a woman." I looked twice and said "Sorry. I couldn't tell." and hurried out the door. Me and my boss laughed about that one for a while.

Did that with a convenience store clerk. Tried to stop when the word sir was coming out but was to late. She, I believe anyway, just looked at me. Noticed when I walked in that I couldn't tell but thought it was female. Was planning on that gender neutral thanks, but the sir just fell out from habit.

Got one at my local Wendy's now that I'm pretty sure is female but am not sure so I just give the thanks.

I used to just assume these women who tried so hard to pass as a man were just lesbians. Now you don't now if their problem is sexual or gender related. Or both. World used to be easier to navigate.

If they don't want me to call he, "he", or she, "she", my only other option is to refer to them as "it". I'll be happy to call someone it if that makes it feel better about itself.

Why don't we just not gender 'those' people at all? Let's call them what they are, freaks.

You can coexist with a person or thing that is different but not one that wants to muzzle your right to speak and express your opinion as you see fit.

Because they've had a big brother (America) to do all the heavy lifting and make sure they never had to face anything really bad. They are like the spoiled little sibling that thinks they are smarter and better when they've never had to face reality because they've been protected.

And what the heck are you talking about when you say Canada has never had to face anything really bad? Canada joined WW2 in 1939 (2 years before the US) and lost nearly 44,000 troops over the course of the war. Canada actually had more casualties as a percentage of their population when compared to the US (not by much, but still).
