You are mistaken about GS at Auburn. It will be much more intriguing than you think.

If Southern's offense is back to typical Georgia Southern levels, its an intriguing game. If the same crap last year shows up again, Auburn runs away and hides. Malzahn's bunch can put up points in bunches, but he struggles when teams play keep away.

Georgia Southern won't score more than 10 points. Auburn has a big, talented defense that can keep a triple option in check.

With a freshman qb and new OC, I think it would be a huge surprise for Southern's offense to be at 2015 and earlier levels. I've watched enough option offense to know the timing doesn't happen this quick. Next year is the season I'm optimistic about.

Heard that lots of times before. We scored multiple touchdowns on probably the best defense in the history of college football.

However, this isn't an offense humming on all cylinders. Will we come out with good execution or will we have some stuff we have to cleanup heading through the schedule? Lots of unknowns right now.

They could beat us by 223

I'm not sold on auburn a offense until I see that kid play against SEC defenses. Not saying he will have a difficult time against GaSo(sorry GaSo) but Big XII defenses are not SEC defenses and that is all the kid played against in those few games for Baylor.

Who really knows what Auburn will be capable of, GaSo has an opportunity, but they are going to have to be better then last year.

I think Ole Miss is going to come out ticked off and try to take it out on the Jags. I hope our lines play strong and withstand what I expect to be a quick attack and make it more of a grinding game. Otherwise, a couple quick scores early and Ole Miss could take control of the game and never look back.

Hell, they only beat us by 10 last year WITH Chad Kelly and Hugh Freeze.

And our coaching SUCKED last year.

Things that are working in Southern's favor:
-They don't know what to expect from our offense
-Sports media has low expectations for GS
-They play Clemson next week and have been focused on that
-They are also breaking in a new QB
-We have all the pieces for a good option offense

Things that are not in Southern's favor:
-We're playing with a freshman QB
-Our Defense is talented but small
-Their defense is huge
-Their OLine is huge
-They're ranked

I keep seeing this, but it's not exactly true.

We're a bit slimmed down on the DL, but we should have speed on the edge now. Our guys in the middle are still pretty good sized. Ty Phillips at DT is a big ole boy. Our LB's have the size you'd expect to see at LB. And our DB's looked good last year and will hopefully continue that trend.

Size on the defense has not been our problem. Last year we were having scheme and personnel management problems. I don't want to see Auburn abuse us with LB on WR matchups and not be able to counter their tempo as well. If we allow them to do that then it doesn't matter how big we are.

Our D Line was slow and fat last year. I'll take smaller and faster this year and see how that works. Sapp and Battle were way to big to move last year.

Yeah but this year one of our starting DEs is like 225. That's a little concerning

I think we will be much improved on offense this year, but the defense may take a small step back. In all honesty, this week's game is Georgia Southern vs The Spread.

Well that is about the mold Summers / Zo had at UCF when they were a dominate defense. If a kid that weighs 225 beat out six other DE's that weigh more as a FR that could be a good thing as well. It is not like we are hurting there.
