Exactly. JMU fans won't say it, but the ECU game is their freaking Super Bowl. Fact is, they'd get much more exposure beating an FBS school than winning a JV National Championship in any given year.
95% of the average football watching public doesn't have any idea who won the FCS title last year... or most years.
That's true. We don't have quite the appeal to the Walmart shopping trailer trash you all do. Our fanbase is mostly made up of graduates. So if we were to extrapolate using your 12% graduation rate, such criteria would leave you with roughly 497 fans.

You mean our nearly 200,000 living alumni? http://www.piratealumni.com/s/722/hybrid...1&pgid=326
Or the fact that JMU is not even considered a national university, but rather a "regional" university? Whereas ECU is?

Sorry it took me so long to respond, it took me a while to scroll down to ECU's ranking. I started to get a little concerned as schools like Kalamazoo School of Phrenology and Central Ozarks University - Waffle House campus went wizzing by but hey, very impressive.

I don't think you're comprehending, understandably so, considering your educational background, but I have just demonstrated that ECU has a higher academic ranking and standing than JMU. Additionally, I have demonstrated that ECU is more selective than JMU.

Enjoy it. Last year and OCCASIONALLY beating an FBS program, usually one that sucks, is as good as it's going to get for your program.

My comprehension is fine. I don't want to get bogged down in an academic argument so this will be my last related comment. "National" vs "Regional" only relates to the number of doctoral degrees conferred, has nothing to do with academic excellence. Case in point- you're ranked on a level with ODU, not even on a level with George Mason, both of which we'd be ranked above. You may be more selective but my point is not all candidate pools are created equal. We're second/third choice for many public ivy candidates so we end up accepting a ton of students that pick their top choice. Not sure what our "conversion" rate is for accepted students but it's probably not that great. Our graduation rate however is very good. ECU is a fine institution.
Look at something like Forbes if you want to see an example of us ranked among "national" schools using the same set of metrics.

Do we know why they are all suspended?
Something they did last year during the first or second round of the playoffs. 6 were suspended the last 2 games of the playoff including the championship game. Their coach carried the suspension over to the beginning of this season. The TE got suspended this year. Got to admire a coach who keeps to his word. Some coaches would have just let them off with time served based off of the games they missed last year. Whatever they did must have been serious enough to make sure they served their sentence.
