Very Proud of the Texas People
When everything goes wrong and things take a turn for the worst, Texans always seem to step up and meet the challenge. Hurricane Harvey came in and has devastated the Texas gulf coast. Most of the population of the region is flooded or stranded, my family included, but the people of the community are out doing what they can for each other. Those with boats are out rescuing those in trouble. People with 2 story houses are taking complete strangers into their homes and giving them shelter. Acts of kindness like this make me very proud to call myself a Texan.

Other states are reaching out to help. I thank the people of Louisiana for sending air boats and resources. Businesses like HEB have relief trailers and supplies waiting to get into the area as soon as the water recedes. So glad to see people at their best, when life is at its worst.

The United States has always learned a lot from the great state of Texas, and could stand to learn a bit more.

Hope all is well down there.

I'm also proud of my service during these storms that even when the rest of the federal gov't seems like a circus, the CG always does as much as possible and then some to help out. More help is still on the way!

I've seen blacks helping whites, asians and hispanics, I've seen whites helping blacks, asians and hispanics, I've seen asians helping blacks, whites and hispanics and I've seen hispanics helping blacks, whites and asians. All humans helping other humans as it should be.

That is the Texas way. May it always be so.
