Would like to see our defense really make a statement, and gain confidence for the trip to Rutgers.

No idea what to expect from to offense with a new OLine, no tight end, and a new Coordinator. Our 5th year QB is going to need to lead, stay composed, stay patient, pick his spots, and not turn the ball over. Any frustration with getting pressured, or trying to force the ball, and turning it over........and it's going to be a lot closer game that it needs to be.

The other 2 guys behind Nielsen are not ready for this level.

For whoever thought Samuelson would compete, he got moved inside from OT, and still ended up 3rd string!

Will be holding breathe all year hoping OL stays healthy.
On a positive note, next year the OL will be returning a load of experience. That will help with the new QB situation. They will need to recruit the position heavily though. Isn't there already a few OL commits?

There are two or three frosh verbals, don't know what's up with Walter Harris whose twitter mentions EMU bounceback and where he's playing this year, he's not at Riverside. We purportly had a verbal from another Riverside CC OL Dakota Ramsey, but he is not currently listed on Riverside CC's roster so I wonder where he's playing this year. He did have an offer from S Miss but he isn't on their roster. Then we have Jordan Johnson a FR at Garden City CC at 6'4, 290 who appears to have some interest in EMU. By the way our old DB Myron Robinson is at Riverside CC. We also have some interest in Warren Saba DB and Thomas Odukay TE. Garden City is where Kilby is. We are also looking at JUCOs QB, one is Matt Vitale out of Diablo Valley CC. Would like to get one or two JUCOs at the OL along with the frosh players.

Would like to see special teams make decent punt, decent snaps, decent kickoffs and decent holds. All of the little things that win or lose ball games.

Absolutely. We were really spoiled with our punter last year. Our special teams were actually better than average last year, with the exception of KO returns maybe. Would like to see more explosive plays there.

Are you saying that there could be more new guys for this season?

I saw that Nigel Kilby got offers from Southern Methodist and Appalachian State.

Kilby will be very interesting to watch. Assuming he does good at Juco this year he should have several offers to choose from. Could easily take one of those other offers at a 'bigger' school and see what happens. Maybe he plays right away, maybe he doesn't. SMU for instance already has 3 or 4 guys he'd be battling for playing time. His size and receiving skills are a big positive, but his blocking is a big negative. In an offense like SMU's he'd have to be a better than average blocker, or he'd likely never see the field. From his twitter, also looks like Louisville very interested in him.

Each offer would obviously come down to fit, and depth chart needs.

If he came back to EMU, he's an immediate starter and THE MAN. He's familiar with the whole staff, as well as Keen. Familiar with the campus and players, etc. etc.

My understanding is he's welcome back by Creighton, so it would obviously be a huge boost next year if they could somehow convince him to come back.

Less than 50% chance he comes back, if I had to guess.

Sounds like he's prioritized the dream of a big-name school over the reality of getting a ton of playing time and stats at EMU. Nothing to gain and everything to lose.

As a Charlotte fan I hope this game is much better than last year. Overall our offense should be better than last year. Our QB is dual threat type who hopefully will be improved as a passer. The strongest part of our team is our offensive line and running backs. Our defense should be strong at safety and line backer. The major red flag on our team is the defensive line. We don't have a lot of experience there so you'll probably be able to run at will against us. I expect you guys to beat us somewhere around 38-28 but who knows could be better or worse.

Also if you're interested in chatting with us, our board is here:

So it'll be strength against strength, and weakness against weakness. Our OL is really the only question mark, and the DL should be a strength. If we give up 28 that will be disappointing, with 9 of 11 returning on defense.

Yep, that's my read too.

Should be fun to see their OL vs. our DL.

As far as student attendance, keep in mind that this will be part of the freshman's first four program.

RE: Charlotte 49ers at EMU
Our depth at some positions isn't good ie TE and now that we lost Pavletich to medical issues, Sow apparently isn't eligible and Walter Harris III bombed out all of sudden our depth on the OL isn't too hot either. We will be playing some true and redshirt frosh this year. We don't have a choice not too.

By the way lets not knock Bukoski who lost a lot of weight and had an ACL injury last year, give the kid credit for working hard to get back on the playing field and hitting the weight room.

Walter Harris III? Did he ever enroll? I always wondered about him. His tape was not good as all. I'm surprised he even got a FBS scholarship. A tape should show highlights and I couldn't see any characteristics of a FBS OL.

And, again, are we sure about Sow? Are we just repeating speculation????

Bukoski is TBD. Congrats to him for earning the job. Will find out in 2 days whether he's the answer at LT. Really hoping he's healed and steps up to the challenge.

Hunter Andrews is listed as the 3rd TE. 6'4" 280#. Wonder if he'll be switched to OL at some point.

Maybe we should just switch to the triple option? Maybe we could recruit that type of lineman. 03-lmfao

I still can't believe this. Freaking Bryce Kemp is our TE? Our 2nd string is Hunter Andrews? Was he not on the d-line like last week?

What in THE HELL HAPPENED?
