Exclamation Teams Last Season Achieving "The Most with the Least Talent"
Tigers #6

Norvell is busy building up our talent. The combination of more talent and the coach's ability to optimize available talent bodes well for the future under Norvell.

The article also contains a handy chart that shows - no surprise - that generally the teams with the most talent win the most games.

To win at the highest level it's all about talent, always will be, always has been!

Tigers need to finish off their 2018 recruiting with some high level 3 stars and a 4 to go along!!!

Teams that overperform their rankings are teams that have disciplined and accountable offseason programs for player development. The development of the current squad of players was done mostly by Fuente hopefully Norvell can continue developing players at the same rate

I agree. Fuente absolutely changed the execution of the team on the field - and that is big, helps make up for lack of talent. And if the Memphis team is #6 now, it had to be #1 under Fuente in 2014.

It takes bad coaching to be mediocre with superior talent. No doubt about that.

That is the one down side of the early signing period. The possibility of over signing 2 stars early and not having room for any high 3 stars or the occasional 4 star that may come out way. As we found out with Stokes in BB not having a free scholarship when top talent becomes available can hurt.

If everything falls into place and we get the access bowl slot it could be a factor is some later signing 4 star players. But only if we have spots available.

But we had one available for Stokes that was given to a walk-on for making shots in practice.

It's a far cry from a team that didn't even know how to line up under Larry Porter

I guess Saban would qualify as a "smarter" guy.

Saban agrees with smarter fans
