And (looking ahead to a 2018 opponent) Fresno State, ranked #25 in both polls entering the game, lost the Mountain West championship 17-14 to Boise State. It'd be nice if Fresno State's votes went to the Rockets, but I'm guessing they'll go to Boise State.

And was there ever a Rubber Bowl postseason game? I know the Zips don't play there anymore, but maybe the Rubber Bowl is still standing.

This would be an upset, but I'm hoping the Zips can get the bowl season off to a good start for the MAC.

recorded then "speed-watched" the game. Lane Kiffin lives up to his reputation of being a total douchebag. Has the starting QB, receivers, and running back in the game through the end despite a 50-3 lead. Seemed like he was trying to build the stats up for the running back. He may have come out on the last two possesions - which were only about 1:30 apart because of how pathetic the offense was for Akron. And Kiffin goes for 2 after taking a 34-3 lead in the 4th Qtr. Yeh, that was necessary to work on a two-point play before their next game in 9+ months

Ohio meets UAB in the Bahamas Bowl at 12:30 Eastern on ESPN today.

Central Michigan meets Wyoming in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. 4:00 Eastern on ESPN. 3 1/2 hour time block for the bowls. Looking ahead to tomorrow, Army meets San Diego State at 3:30 Eastern on ESPN. In that one I'm hoping for no serious injuries (something I always hope for), no lengthy reviews and no overtimes. Also that Army gets at least two scoring drives of around 8 minutes. Keep the game moving. I don't like missing the start of Toledo games. If Army-SDSU game runs long, maybe they show the start of the Toledo game on one of the other ESPN channels, maybe just on ESPN3. But I'd rather not have to think about it.
