Prayers for the families of our Texas and Louisiana players
May God protect their families and friends during Harvey. This has to be on our players' minds right now. Tiger Nation lift them up, and let them know they are in our thoughts and prayers (if you pray.)

Nehemiah Augustus and Pop Williams come immediately to my mind.

What a great sentiment. Had not even thought of that.

Students are moving in as we speak. Bet some families from that area are here now. Probably will wait it out a few days before trying to get home.

I think I'll pray the dang thing becomes a big nothing.

40 inches is heckuva lot in such a short time.
http://abcnews.go.com/US/hurricane-harve...d=49412285

"Even after the hurricane hits the coast, its effects will linger for days, with heavy rainfall through next week estimated to be as high as 40 inches in some areas."

Leave the Gators alone and Write your Social Security Number on your arm.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/08/...or-damage/

Before the storm Rockport had issued advice to those not evacuating to write their names and Social Security numbers on their arms so rescuers could identify them if they perished.

Texans were warned to look out for alligators displaced by the extreme weather.

In a statement warning about alligators the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office said: "Expect them to be displaced. Simply looking for higher ground. Leave alone until water recedes."

Having experienced Katrina, I can empathize. Our players who are in the "thick of it", as far as flooding is forecast:

Texas Players:
Sean Dykes
Patrick Taylor, Jr
Marcus Green
TreVeon Hamilton
Christian Slaughter
Joseph Dorceus
Trevon Tate
Coye Fairman

Louisiana Players:
Pop Williams
Damonte Coxie
Nehemiah Augustus
Doroland Dorceus
Jonathan Williams (Swamp Donkey)
MikHail Hill

Prayers for all of those affected, especially for our players.

The Houston area is extremely dangerous right now. Spoke with friends there this morning. Not good. One had to be rescued off the top of her car in the early 90's when I-10 became a river. We used to live in Spring and Cypress Creek would swell to the size of a river.

I live in the Dallas area and we are just getting small showers today in Frisco. Nothing serious. Houston is another story. We have been to Rockport a few times. It is right on the Gulf Coast just north of Corpus. They got it pretty bad there.

Kayak and fish Rockport often. Friends down there are saying it and Port A are basically gone.

I like (liked) Rockport. Nice little town and there were some great places to dine there.

Yes. Thanks for posting. My daughter lives in Houston. And my wife's family is there. Prayer is a good thing.

My son has a buddy at UH. He has 4 feet of water in his apartment and is back with his family in Austin. My wife has family in Beaumont and they are getting it now. Water moving into the house today for the first time. They can't get flood insurance there either.
