a sign of true progress at Memphis
for the first time ever, football season parking is sold out. between 8-9,000 paved spaces on the Fairgrounds if I remember correctly. a small thing that's a big thing for Memphis

And, according to a poster on MT.org, over 20K season tickets have been sold.

I heard the same, once removed from the AD (Bowen).

they will never be able to figure out the 2005 number because that athletic administration used a bunch of jinky accounting. discounts, trade in kinds, comps, faculty/staff and whatever else they felt like counting is what you got in those days. if nothing else, bowen runs a tight ship.

I lived in Memphis from 2009 to 2014. Crazy to see how much the culture (university-wide) has changed in such a short time period.

Right -- still they're going to see if they can figure out the *actual* number of season tickets sold during DeAngelo Williams senior season to make this season's sales an official record breaker.

I think the city gets the parking money. Not 100% sure though.

That's just not right... School should get some percentage of it.

Level of excitement in Memphis for Tiger football is off the charts. It's amazing what a new administration, who actually cares about football can achieve. Tiger football is now THE thing to do in Memphis.

This is the city of Memphis. It's run by crooks. Has been for the last quarter century.

Memphis buys the lots from the city then sells to public. A lot is tied to donation. I've no idea what if any markup they take on just a regular pass

Thanks for clarifying. That is a reasonable arrangement.

I'll admit, the Memphis now is not the Memphis I remember from the 90s when I was at Southern Miss. You guys have a legit football program now.

Yep, I'm old enough to recall that we were more than legit in the '60s and '70s, but the '80s and '90s were awful. We recovered some with DeAngelo Williams and friends in the '00s, then back in the hole, until a few years ago.

The sunshine now is fun.
