Exclamation Who is the go-to sports writer for your school?
With football getting ready to crank back up, there is starting to be more and more news/predictions/polls out there. For our own schools, we can tell pretty quickly who did the research before writing a column, and who phoned it in. I feel like the latter is particularly prevalent in our conference:

USF: Quentin Flowers blah blah blah
UConn: blah blah blah, Randy Edsall, he was the coach before, blah blah blah
ECU: Zay Jones gone, blah blah blah
UCF: Went from 0 wins to 6, blah blah blah
Cincy: Blah Blah Coach came from a school we recognize blah
Temple: Coach left for Baylor, let's just talk about Baylor, blah blah blah
Tulane: Blah Blah Blah still bad at this blah blah
Tulsa: blah blah whatever they are saying about Tulsa blah blah
Houston: Still have Ed Oliver blah blah
Memphis: Returning starters blah blah blah
Navy: Blah longest tenured coach blah still can't pronounce his name blah blah
SMU: Blah Blah Chad Morris getting things together maybe blah blah

Anyway, I'm curious, who is the guy or guys...or gals that you can always rely on to get good info on your team? If I wanted to know how SMU's camp went, for instance, where is the first place I should go to read about it?

For ECU, it's Stephen Igoe at Hoist the Colours. He attends practices (when media is allowed), breaks team news, and usually posts at least something worth reading every day this time of year.

Who is it for your team?

For Tulsa, it's Kelly Hines with the Tulsa World although there's very good stuff put out by Inside Tulsa Sports (Chris Harmon + Larry Lewis) but most of the good details are behind their paywall.

SMU: Ponyfans, Dallas Morning News - Sportsday, Scout and Rivals. Still haven't named starting QB, with Hicks (last year's starter) leading. All three contenders (3*Hicks (Soph), 4*Gillens (Jr) transfer from Wisconsin/JC, and 4*Peavey (Soph) transfer from Arkansas) should play in first game against Stephen F. Austin. If these guys come thru, should be a fun year on offense. Defense, well? Most analysts are optimistic as am I.

There is more than enough free content though. I guess depending on your need for information would determine how much the VIP status is worth it to you. Also, as a VIP member you can use the site link to Fanatics to get 20% off on Fanatics.com.

Owlscoop writers are the best for Temple. Philly media has copied and pasted my posts on here before for news articles because they're lazy.

Dude, you're very creepy. I have no idea why you keep referring to me as Reece but for the fifth time I'm not. My name is Chris. I'm far from a journalist. Focus your obsession on another target.

That was kinda why I posted the question. Too many outlets out there with old or lazy info.

BC1 has the scoop a little TOO soon for me. If the starting QB knocked up his girlfriend, I'd like to get that news shortly after it happened, not as it's happening. 03-shhhh
