I think he was short of the first down marker even if they spotted it right.

He was not at the 30-yard line like the announcers said when his knee was down. He was a couple inches short and it wouldn't have been a first down.

I think NC State got a break on their last TD too. When they fumbled at the 1-yard line on 3rd down they ruled forward progress was stopped which was a terrible ruling in my opinion.

If they didn't rule it stopped then NC State would've had 4th and goal from the 8-yard line instead of the 1-yard line. So the refs pretty much gifted NC State a TD.

James Madison 21
East Carolina 7
Mid 4th

So I guess we can tell the ECU fans that occasionally troll the board that they can't get invited until James Madison is in first.

Louisville crushing Purdue in yardage but only up 10-7 because:

Four trips inside the Purdue 5 yard line:
TD
FG
Fumble
Fumble

Two fumbles at the 1 yard line. Should be up 24-7.

Here we go again with all the red zone fumbles. So far 0 improvement over last season.

Amazing how poor Bobby still is at late in the half/game clock management. We get the ball with 50 seconds left, we complete a long pass to the Purdue 45 with 42 seconds left. We don't use one of our two timeouts and the game clock drains from 42 to 28 seconds before he next snap. The half ends with UofL at the Purdue 14 and two unused timeouts. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR BOBBY?

5 trips inside the Purdue red zone.

TD, FG, 2 fumbles, and the half ends with two wasted timeouts.

Miami might be a contender, but it's hard to tell against Bethune-Cookman. Likewise we still don't know much about Syracuse and Wake Forest.

After that UNC performance today, it's pretty clear why Fedora was supposedly throwing his name into the ring for other P5 jobs this past offseason. It feels like they've already peaked under him, and now Miami and VT seem to be getting back on track.

Louisville is just making too many mistakes. They should be winning by a good margin. Go Cards!!

Well, at least NC State's season is over so I can plan those fall events on Saturdays.

Louisville has looked miserable tonight... They have 3 turnovers (2 fumbled inside the 10) and several penalties (false starts mainly). They better pick up before North Carolina and Clemson.

1-0 (0-0)
Bring on Auburn

While I am still somewhat skeptical about Kelly Bryant as the starting QB I do have to say that the defense and supposed 4 deep at RB from preseason camp press conferences is the absolute truth. I have been going to Clemson games regular since the late 1970's and I can't recall a more dominating defensive performance. All four scholarship RBs averaged at least 5 yards per carry. Milan Richard is going to be the next great Clemson TE, and WRU is in full effect.

I like the aggressiveness we are showing on punt returns this year. In previous years we tended to play it conservative with the fair catch. Our returners today seemed to want to return the ball first.

Going to have to watch the DVR to fully get a clear picture but I like the balance the offense brings this year. The OL was simply dominant.

Heard on the postgame coverage 90 players played at least a snap today. I believe it because I know the the Bevelle twin who plays OL got a ton of snaps in the second half. Didn't catch if his twin brother played on the DL or not.

The next time anybody claims NC State has a great traveling fanbase someone please post pictures of all the empty seats in Charlotte today. Firsy game in eight months with supposedly the best team they have had in a decade and they can't turn out any better than that?

Almost as embarrassing as losing to a talent deficient South Carolina team like they did.

Kap - I understand you live in a rural cow pasture and that a trip to the big city is a big thing for you and has to beat squirting water on a fire, but for most State graduates a trip to Charlotte is not much better than a colonoscopy. You could not have paid me to sit in Charlotte in early September for a 3:00 PM game. You do a real disservice to Clemson and the Fire Profession. You are the very definition of a loud mouthed, hotheaded, Sandlapper. It's your kind that started the Civil War with your arrogance and drug NC into your fight.

Can't you be happy with your adopted school's success and otherwise shut the **** up?

I have to actually give you props for your first ever post you have made on here not blaming the ACC or anybody else for the deficiencies of your football program and minuscule traveling fanbase in some long winded, convoluted rant. Congrats! Has to be a huge first step for you.

Clemson goes to Charlotte on a few weeks notice = Bank of America turns into a mini Death Valley and we set attendance records.

NC State gets close to two years notice and a high profile opponent and Bank of America looks like the stands of the Weedeater Bowl. Absolutely pathetic. They would be better off asking ECU to anchor one side of the kickoff game instead of any of Tobacco Road because y'all don't know how to be big time football fanbases.

What was the logo in the center of the field at Lucas Oil Stadium? It said something "classic". Is there going to be an annual kickoff game there?

Alabama got 289 hidden yards from field position and special teams. They had 269 yards of offense. FSU had 250 yards of offense. Florida State should have left their special teams coach in Atlanta.

It was The Ally Bank Classic.
I bought my tickets in March and it wasn't marketed as that.
I doubt it's another annual kickoff game.
