JMU @ ECU Watch Parties
Just got an invite to a watch party in Richmond on Facebook. Figured why not post a thread on here too.

9/2 - 5:30pm - 9:00PM
Gus' Bar and Grill
2701 W Broad St, Richmond, Virginia 23220

Wife and I are literally moving to Richmond that morning so talk about perfect timing. Fios won't be by to hook up the internet until Sunday so this just saved my weekend.

RE: JMU @ ECU Watch Parties
Gus' has been an awesome venue for JMU watch parties, I set up the chapter watch parties for the last few years and SLAMMED that place for the playoffs last and other games during the season, so I am glad the new leadership is continuing that relationship! I hope you enjoy it and welcome to Richmond!

Love Gus' - food is great. Get a Gyro or the bbq chicken pizza. Toasted Raviolios are bomb too.

I was just going over the schedule and I noticed they didn't have video for the home games. Are we not having Madizone video this year for the home games?

Business as usual. The website and especially its maintenance is the worst. Not just the updated format which is an eye sore and navigational nightmare, but they routinely do not update schedules. I see middle school athletics websites far superior. Embarrassing to JMU Athletics. Especially from a school which has well-respected Communications and SMAD programs too. Sad.

Yea the Richmond one is not an "official" one as far as I know as the RVA Alumni Chapter can't staff it, but, I will suggest that they list it on that website nonetheless so people looking there will know to come to Gus'!

RE: JMU @ ECU Watch Parties
Added two on the Golden Coast for those of you out there -

Santa Francisco, CA (referenced above)
The Brick Yard, 3:00–6:00 p.m. local time
1787 Union St., Santa Francisco, CA 94123

Santa Monica, CA
Finn McCool's Irish Pub, 3:00–6:00 p.m. local time
2702 Main Street, Santa Monica, CA 90405

Check the website as they keep updating it. The alumni association will post all watch parties on the site through the season (assuming we have TV coverage or a place is willing to stream Madizone) - alumni.jmu.edu/gamewatchparty is a shortcut link

RE: JMU @ ECU Watch Parties
Greetings JMU Nation,
Sorry, but I'm not sorry. Watch parties? What are you thinking? The watch party is in Greenville, NC at Dowdy-Ficklen stadium. I've done my best over the years to assist in your pursuit of FBS collegiate tackle football. I've been more than generous in setting up this game to give you an opportunity on the big stage. And this is the way you repay me? With apathy and a general malaise.

Get your hind parts to GreenVegas and show your Lackluster President that the Dukes are ready to support Division 1-A football. If you choose not to attend, then you are part of the problem. Consider this your first and last warning. I cannot help a fanbase and that will not help itself.

Your buddy,
Terry Holland
