Who is going to start at quarterback
Has Luke made a decision on a starting quarterback yet?

I thought I heard in one of his interviews that this week he would have a good idea of who would be the starter in order to get him ready for the opener.

I'd be shocked if it wasn't Moore.

Moore has a handful of good games under his belt, have not seen Trail ball at this level.

RE: Who is going to start at quarterback
I'm sure part of this is CLF needing time to evaluate QB's that he did not coach until this year (for the past 6 months). However, it seems telling that Moore has not clearly established himself to this point. I believe both have been banged up at different times so this has likely played a factor as well. My gut says Moore.

Watched the scrimmage on Saturday. Trail did not look sharp at all. Moore didn't look great either, but at least on Saturday looked more polished and poised than Trail. On the other hand, Mike Boone looked tremendous.

Based on what CLF said in the after practice interview today, sounds like Moore.

Trail didn't play this past weekend. He's hurt. The opposing started was Spoko(sp?!?)
Supposedly, Trail, was impressive the week prior in scrimmage #1, however he's since lost a lot of snaps to injury. I think it's clear that it's Moore's job at this point.

Hopefully with another year under his belt and probably just as important, a new coaching staff that appears to know what they're doing, Moore can be a quality serviceable qb. He had some nice games in the past so its not like he can't do it.

Maybe if our defense is improved, and the whole "bend, don't break" defensive philosophy is a thing of the past ... Moore won't be forced to have to try and make plays.

I could easily see him having a Pead circa. 2011 type season this year with the way they've been utilizing him so far.

The only thing I see that could limit him would be the depth at the position. One of the positions, He Who Shall Not Be Named, recruited exceedingly well at was RB -
Boone, Doaks, and Boose. Not to mention Warren is gonna play....so Boone may not get the carries to ball out fully. Tho...i don't see that as a bad thing. Idk that he needs a ton of carries. Plus he can catch the ball.

True...I guess the better corollary would be the 2008 season with Ramsey, Goebel, and Pead each getting some touches, but our rushing numbers still being around 1700 yards on the season.

Well, I hope they taught Boone how to pass block. He absolutely sucked at that. Would leave his feet and give a shove instead of planting and blocking. He'd get blown up play after play.
Also, Boone doesn't have that next gear like Pead did. Boone isn't going to outrun a defense if he gets past em. Pead would just be GONE.
Boone sure is explosive, however. Hopefully he got his nastiness back.

As I mentioned previously, Boone looked tremendous on SAturday. He is quick through the hole and can outrun people. He also looks stronger. If he stays healthy, he could easily rush for 1200-1500 yards this season. My guess is that they give a number of touches to Doaks, Boose and Warren as well to give them some experience for next year. RB should be one of the team's strongest positions, especially if the OL shows some improvement during the course of the season. Running against Michigan likely being an exception.

I just heard on the radio that CLF is expected to name the starter by the end of the day. I love that UC is getting media coverage up here now.
