Charlotte Hyland had the hat trick and hasn't scored since. That's peculiar.

What is the injury? When is she due back?

Team lost fourth in a row today at DePaul in Chicago, 4-0, Have scored just one goal in those four games after winning first four games. This was a terrible loss.

Slide continues, falling to UNC-Greensboro 0-1. We're now 4-5 after a promising start. Can't blame our defense for the 5 losses.

RE: Women's Soccer 2017
All of the losses have occurred since Sarah Segan got hurt (apparently we are a one-person team, at least on offense).

Hopefully the team will get it together! Our NCAA-record 34 (36?) year winning streak might be in jeopardy. That is a cool record that it would be great to have continue.

Daly has not been happy in his last two post-game commentaries (the only two I have seen).

RE: Women's Soccer 2017
Coach Daly's post-game video remarks are the strongest in being critical we've seen on Tribe Athletics in memory. Usually, as active viewers of Tribe coaches' post-game remarks well know, we get the usual hum-drum, meaningless comments saying little. A refreshing change for certain.

The team has being playing poor offense; over-passing, taking poor, rushed shots at times and appears tense and hesitant offensively in the two home games I've seen. Kind of how a baseball team appears at the plate when they haven't scored in a long time.

Team has lost six in a row and had exactly one goal in those six games...has been shutout four games consecutively. Tough times for one of W&M's most consistently terrific programs that has been among the best in the NCAA.

It is now 6 straight games (all losses) that Sarah has not played. I still have not heard what the injury is and, therefore, have no idea on the prognosis for her coming back this season. What is all the secrecy about the injury? We know the injuries for football and basketball players. Second, every opponent that we have played and will play knows that she is out, so what advantage is gained by being quiet? Third, if it is a sports injury, then, again, why no announcement (since no privacy considerations are violated by announcing that, say, she has a high ankle sprain)?

Daly better get this turned around quickly or our NCAA record for consecutive winning seasons will be in jeopardy. The next match at Drexel is a "must win" game.

You're assuming the lack of info on the injury is due to more than someone actually asking the coach and reporting the answer. Do we have a source on the injury other than Choirboy?

Team shut out for the fifth time in a row this afternoon, losing at Drexel 2-0.

What else is there to say?

We've got to be inside our own heads at this point right? We haven't scored since Sept 3.

Daly HAS been inserting a bunch of non-starters etc in an attempt to shake things up, but to no avail. Here is what I have noticed (hard to miss):

1. Our best player (Sarah Segan) has not played in 7 games (all losses).

2. In the first 4 games our goalie was Brugoglio (sp?), all wins. She is a soph, I think. Since then, the two senior GKs have been playing.

However, it is obvious that defense is not the problem; lack of offense is the problem.

RE: Women's Soccer 2017
Open Letter to the Women's Soccer Team
*********************************

Anyone associated with William & Mary sports knows that the Tribe seldom gets the respect we deserve. We are constantly maligned as a lower class of football (FCS), as a basketball afterthought who has never made the NCAA tournament, etc etc etc. However, there is one thing about W&M sports that we have that no other school has: we have the record for consecutive winning seasons (34) in one sport. That sport is WOMEN's SOCCER, and we have never had a losing record in our history. That is something that every Tribe member can be justifiably proud! No other school can claim that; not Alabama, Michigan, or Notre Dame in football; not Kentucky or UCLA in basketball; not any school in any sport --- and the best way to hold and maintain such a record into the future is to keep it alive! So W&M women's soccer must keep winning as the best way to maintain the record and to keep W&M front and center in the NCAA record books!

Unfortunately, and no one knows this better than you, the women's soccer team, but W&M has had adversity this year. But we are counting on you to overcome it! Play every game like it is the last and only game to keep the record alive! Do that every game, and before you know it you will have prevailed and maintained the streak. It is especially incumbent on the seniors to ensure that it is not your class that broke the streak. Fight on!
***********************************************************

The Tribe would need to go 6-1 the rest of the way in the regular season in order to ensure that a 10-8 record would protect the winning streak in case of a first round exit in the CAA tournament. It can be done -- I believe!!

Sixth consecutive game W&M has been shut out. A remarkable streak.

RE: Women's Soccer 2017
Lost at home today, 3-1, but did actually score a goal after being shut our six games in a row. Now
0-3-1 in CAA. Season is kaput and will be our first losing women's soccer team in school history.
