Why the hell doesn't Georgetown commit to their program. They've been the laughing stock of the Patriot League for nearly two decades.

Sports outside of basketball are largely an afterthought at Georgetown. It is an academically-minded institution.

The Patriot League is designed around academics but also tries to legitimately compete in FCS. They've had a scheduling arrangement with the Ivy League since the league was formed in 1986. Most of the PL schools have been playing the Ivies since the late 1880's. Georgetown opted to join the Patriot League and have decided to stay instead of leave for the non-scholarship basketball centric Pioneer League. Georgetown faired really well in the MAAC before they left for the PL in 2001. MAAC football ultimately folded. It's extremely frustrating to watch.

It's more to do with being cheap and sponsoring too many D1 sports imo. I've been to the MSF 3 times for football games and while the setting is awesome the facility is below most high school stadiums in PA. It's suppose to be getting a serious facelift. Although that was suppose to be the case 10 years ago and all the added was a gate and some brick work around the exterior.

Just spent $65 million on the Thompson basketball center.

I still waiting for Lehigh to play UMass. I've haven't been to McGuirk since the 1998 quarterfinal playoff game. That was an incredible game, painful, but still excellent. That was the Minutemen's toughest game enroute to the national title. Lehigh had it 1st and goal at the Umass 9 with a minute left and somehow couldn't get in.

JMU loaded with talent? They recruited a total of (4) 3 star players in the last two years. Add a few 2 star players and the majority were unranked. In the same 2 years ECU recruited (25) 3 star players with the rest ranked 2 stars.
They are loaded for FCS competition, but not FBS. They were destroyed by the lone FBS team they played last year, and have won a whopping total of 2 games against FBS teams in their history. History is not in their side.
ECU did not have a good year last year, due to poor defensive play and being seriously turnover prone, especially in the red zone. They still were very effective offensively when they could hang in to the ball and punch it in. I think they averaged about 460 ypg. Problem was defensively they gave up about 450 ypg and lost the turnover battle by about +10.
The staff added several JUCo and transfers in to help the defensive front, and the Auburn transfer Tim Irvin and the Clemson transfer Wiggins are set in the secondary.
Hopefully these kids and the returning injured players will lead to some significant improvement.
Offensively our top two RB are both 4 star transfers and Minshew has had a spring and summer to become more acclimated to the offense.
Clearly we are much more talented than JMU, and unless the coaching staff is completely inept, we should win easily, especially in our home opener.

One of those FBS wins Madison had was over Virginia Tech. It's not exactly uncommon to see FCS teams beat FBS teams these days, especially defending national champions at that level. We know of the damage NDSU has done.

Throw the ratings out and settle it on the field.

Tulane has never lost to an FCS opponent. Ever. And we've had some pretty atrocious teams.

If we don't go 9-0, it won't be Tulane's fault.
