Maine at UCF
Austin Peay at UC. 26-14 win
Holy Cross at Uconn 27-20 win

James Madison at ECU
Southern Illinois at Memphis
Stony Brook at USF
SFA at SMU
Villanova at Temple
Grambling at Tulane

They are all at home so hopefully we go 9-0. What do you predict and who could be losses?

AAC starts 2-0

Nope

If you're using Georgetown as your FCS basis then you're in for a rude awaken!

Why the hell doesn't Georgetown commit to their program. They've been the laughing stock of the Patriot League for nearly two decades.

Sports outside of basketball are largely an afterthought at Georgetown. It is an academically-minded institution.

Right, that's why Allen Iverson, Victor Page, Michael Graham and numerous others who can't read have been enrolled there.

RE: American vs FCS
I was at the Lehigh-Villanova game today. The Wildcats will give Temple trouble next week. Their running game is very good. Lehigh's QB and WR's are really good so I think they might have tested the Wildcats more than we will. We need to run Armstead at them all game and hopefully our front 7 come to play. The CAA teams are a royal pain in the ass....

Villanova's defense is good enough to give Temple fits but I don't think their offense is capable of putting up enough points to seriously threaten us.

JMU loaded with talent? They recruited a total of (4) 3 star players in the last two years. Add a few 2 star players and the majority were unranked. In the same 2 years ECU recruited (25) 3 star players with the rest ranked 2 stars.
They are loaded for FCS competition, but not FBS. They were destroyed by the lone FBS team they played last year, and have won a whopping total of 2 games against FBS teams in their history. History is not in their side.
ECU did not have a good year last year, due to poor defensive play and being seriously turnover prone, especially in the red zone. They still were very effective offensively when they could hang in to the ball and punch it in. I think they averaged about 460 ypg. Problem was defensively they gave up about 450 ypg and lost the turnover battle by about +10.
The staff added several JUCo and transfers in to help the defensive front, and the Auburn transfer Tim Irvin and the Clemson transfer Wiggins are set in the secondary.
Hopefully these kids and the returning injured players will lead to some significant improvement.
Offensively our top two RB are both 4 star transfers and Minshew has had a spring and summer to become more acclimated to the offense.
Clearly we are much more talented than JMU, and unless the coaching staff is completely inept, we should win easily, especially in our home opener.

Ahem...

The poster that predicted SMU struggling against SFA, good call.

If Wichita State started a team this week I'm not convinced we'd go winless in conference play.

Honestly, I don't think this should even be called out Cuban. I can see calling out vs P6 and even G4 teams for perspective, but calling out vs FCS is silly. Just my opinion of course. Thought I'd throw that out there.

RE: American vs FCS
A lot of folks (myself included) were a bit concerned by how Cincinnati struggled to put away Austin Peay, who hadn't won a game in over two years. Well, they ended their 29-game losing streak on Saturday with a 69-13 drubbing of Morehead State: http://www.espn.com/college-football/rec...=400951254

I suspected they were a much different team this year, and it looks like that is the case. Don't get me wrong... beating an FCS team 26-14 is not a good look no matter what, but Austin Peay had a top 5 FCS recruiting class plus 13 FBS and JUCO transfers. After giving Michigan a good game and pulling out one on the road against Miami, I am no longer sounding the alarm bells based on the Austin Peay game.
