The top NonBCS that finishes higher than a BCS champ and in top 16 received an auto bid. Boise State did it 3 times, Hawaii once while Tech was in the WAC

So UCF would have received the BCS bid as a nonBCS also and the AAC still would have received much more than the SBC without the auto bid.

The AAC and MWC were higher rated so was CUSA west

No Wrong again because any top NonBCS that finishes higher than a BCS champ and in top 16 received an auto bid. Boise State did it 3 times, Hawaii once while Tech was in the WAC

Gotta admit when I'm wrong.

http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com...ess-bowls/

It specifically lists the Big East as a conference without a contractual tie-in. My mistake.

The one thing I hope does not happen is AVERAGE. That's the worse thing that can happen to CUSA...every school to be average. As far as conference rank goes average is good. The SBC used average to get the top G5 ranking 4 years ago. But I think you need a clear top and clear middle and clear bottom.

a bunch of 6-6 teams gets the conference ranked higher but NO EXCITEMENT.

Average is not good...more money but not good

The below made the SBC #1 in the G5 ranking in 2013
Arkansas State 8 5
Louisiana-Lafayette 9 4
Western Kentucky 8 4
Louisiana-Monroe 6 6
South Alabama 6 6
Troy 6 6
Texas State 6 6
Georgia State 0 12

? Yeah I don't know about that. 2013 was the last year of the BCS, and UCF went to the BCS bowl. The AAC and MWC finished considerably ahead of the SBC in the Massey ratings and Sagarin.
Tech and USM were terrible from coaching changes and the SBC still barely edge out CUSA.

AAC 72.05
FBS I 75.74
MWC 79.04

SBC 85.90
CUSA 86.34

SBC got top money out of the G5 something like $250k more for each school over CUSA.

As I said I don't like average but it got the SBC top money

6 Sun Belt Conference 0.5
7 American Athletic Conference 0.496
8 Mountain West Conference 0.474
9 Conference USA 0.455
10 Mid-American Conference 0.448
11 Independent 0.427

The Sunbelt did not get top money, not anywhere close to what the AAC got. The Sunbelt has never sent a team to the BCS or Access Bowl.
Remember The AAC had sent UCF to a BCS Bowl, huge payout. Here are the numbers, before the CFP the conference that sent a team to BCS bowl made the most money by far

AAC 27.8 million

Sunbelt 4.1 million

https://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-dr-...39154.html
The G5 didn't exist in 2013 because that was the last year of the BCS. The Sun Belt took the top non-BCS performance payout that season from the final year of the BCS contract. The AAC was not part of that as they played out the last year of the Big East's BCS tie in.

When ya'll gonna learn to listen to WKUYG when he says something?

You might not like the way he says something but he never pulls something out of his assss. I knew he was right about the Sun Belt payout because I still read their board and when that happened they were ecstatic using against CUSA as a measure.

At least some of you were man enough to check into it.

Lol, you obviously didn't read what Thunderground posted or what I posted. The Georgia guy just repeated what I said initially

I initially agreed wholeheartedly with YG until I found that article. It clearly states that the BE is not a contracted bowl. So to be honest, I have no friggin clue because I do remember the hubbub from the belt bragging that they got top money....

So that article kinda contradicts what I initially thought.
