Rocket FanFest has a new twist
Quote:Toledo, Ohio – The University of Toledo announced on Wednesday the expansion of Rocket Fan Fest for the first four home football games.

The community tailgate will take place three hours prior to kickoff and will extend into the flatlands to feature live music, food including Deet's BBQ, beverages and snacks from Aramark, along with the "Bud Light Beer Garden".

All food and beverages are available for purchase. Those 21 years or older must show a valid I.D. and will receive a wristband upon entrance into the beer garden.

FULL STORY

I love this pregame party. Would like to see a couple more food trucks, but it's a start.

Where is the "flatlands"? Is that on Secor, north of the shops where Gradkowski's is?

The flatlands is the area NW of the stadium where the rock is, or you can look at it as the area between Parks Tower and the library, if that helps.

Oh, you mean that low-lying area I've walked past a hundred times walking to the stadium. I didn't know it was called that. Thanks.

better to be named for the land in the area and not because it is how the beer tastes.
