14 Days to Kickoff... #14 R-Fr WR Braxton Westfield (and walk-on DB LJ Taylor)
Braxton is a big target for our QB's standing at 6'4" (and listed at 206#). He hails from Greenville, SC, and was redshirted his first year a season ago. WR is a position that seems available in terms of guys getting a chance to move up into the 2-deep. Good luck to Braxton in his first season of potential game action.

and...
L.J. Taylor is a walk-on from Newport News via Denbigh HS. He is listed at the cornerback position. Yet another legacy as his bio advises his Dad played football at JMU ('87-'90). Great to see a young man who likely grew up bleeding purple get to wear the purple and gold. Good luck to L.J.

Will be interesting if guys like Westfield and Stapelton get an opportunity to emerge in the absence of Alls in the early part of the year. IMO Alls is our most talented WR (very close with Miller and Ish) so I hope they can be matchup issues for defenses with their size.

I think Eldridge will open some eyes quickly. I expect him to make an immediate impact.

Yes, didn't mean to leave him out either. I guess I'm always skeptical of guys who come from UVA. Hopefully he's an exception.

Amen to that.
Before Kloo's suspension was announced, Madia I believe was reporting that the offensive staff was experimenting with flanking out Carlton from TE to a load of a WR target. Imagine a 5'9-5'10" corner trying to cover Carlton who is listed at 6'3" 234#. It does speak volumes though about the athleticism and confidence the coaches have in Carlton. For the first 2 games at least, I imagine those plans may be scrapped. Well, maybe. They could still spread Carlton out in a no-TE, 4-out approach. Regardless, after the first 2 games when Kloo returns, it will be interesting to see if Carlton and Kloo are on the field at the same time. Matchup problems. Love it.

Our DE from UVA was a solid addition last year so let's no poo poo the UVA transfers. UVA is a P5 program that consistently has puts guys in the NFL. While there full team can't seem to find success, they have some very good football players on their roster just not enough of them.
