didn't happen to get a screengrab did you?

Thanks! Uhh.... why are we still playing NMSU so much lol

We have a real shot of making some noise in 2018, nice 6 game home schedule with quality teams and with a more experienced staff and players we will hopefully be favored to 50/50 in most of those games. Clemson is the only one I'd say is a likely loss.

2019 is brutal with all those away games. dang.

Bright side is we have 6 home games for at least 2 years, just hope no more than 1 are mid-week.

If Troy, stAte and App are all strong this year we probably will have three mid-week games next season with that home conference schedule.

No logic. So no GS last two years. Host in 2018 but gone in 2019. Then at CCU in 2017, gone in 2018, and at CCU again in 2019. Way not just do home and away in back to back years instead of this weird off and on crap. No logic to it.

Something is not right...how exactly are they rotating this? We will have ArkSt four years in a row and back to back home games with them....01-wingedeagle

I think it's all screwed up because of not having cross-division rivals.

We'll have to pushback against that. Multiple midweek home games is a killer, and through 2016 we were the team that had had the most in the previous 3 seasons.

One team can't be expected to carry that load every year.

Did the league release anything about tiebreaker rules in determining the division champion?

I would not blame one fan for holding off on season tickets for 2018. I mean as far as I know ESPN has complete control of the games. IF, again IF GS can turn this around this year those three game would be prime candidates.

I can't recall what or even if they addressed that. I do remember they said that if no teams are ranked in the CFP playoff rankings (which if you recall is how the Conference champion host site is suppose to be selected) then they would use a formula which is based on the old "BCS System"

I would imagine for divisional tiebreakers, they'd use similar methods already in place (head to head results, AP/Coaches poll rankings, etc)

The only things I don't like are that we don't play USA every year and that I didn't get to see the game of cow pie bingo that determined how the schedule was laid out.

Wonder who voted which way?

I really wanted a permanent series against Arkansas State. At least it will be 8 years out of 10, in the long run.

We'll just play you in the Championship game in 2019 and call it even...

I'm pretty sure the AD's wrote out the 2018 and 2019 Football Schedules over a game of Beer Pong.

USA/Troy screws up everything for the rotation.

I don't think it's unreasonable to grant a request to let two in-state teams play each other. The SBC certainly does that accommodation for other teams.

The problem is not adopting a cross-division rival for everyone. Really, it just means you'll play one team 10 out of a 10 year cycle instead of 8 out of the 10 years.

Stupid.

South Alabama and Troy is a rivalry that has to be played every year since we are two in-state foes. Everyone else that has in-state schools in the SBC plays each other every year. It would make sense for everyone to have a cross divisional opponent as well. Would there be enough interest in a CCU-TXST series every year? GASO-ULM? APP-ARKST? ULL-GAST?

Why not? Its like the two great party schools squaring off for the title. River versus Beach.

Make it a big party lead up.

There are a lot of games that are less marketable.

RE: BREAKING: SBC RELEASES 2018 CONFERENCE SLATE
Everyone take a deep breath.

When you have as drastic a change as the conference has (splitting into divisions, lose two teams, etc), any conference would take the "blow it up and start all over again" approach.

In other words, what's happened in the past is not relevant to the present (2018) and future (2019).

Everyone starts with a clean slate. Yes, it means strange stuff like the Cajuns have missed Georgia State for the last two years. We play in 2018 but not in 2019. We won't see the new stadium until at least 2020.

We need to understand the past schedules and these new schedules are mutually exclusive. One does not influence the other.

Because of new criteria and new teams, the basketball schedule was constantly being blown up before Karl got here. The Cajuns wound up going to Western Kentucky six times in an eight year span.

Again, the past schedules and future schedules are MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE.

03-lmfao Your "Battle of the Party Schools" had me spewing coffee . . . .

But from a "purely" interest standpoint . . . not so much . .

We have no history with CCU, other than some very good baseball games this past season. Distance is also an issue . . . some of the best rivalries are among schools that are relatively close to each other... it allows for intense fan participation. Most importantly, you can't "force" a rivalry.

This is why I'd like another TX Football playing school in the Belt. It would increase the likelihood of a "natural rivalry" developing, with intense fan participation.

Shame UNT left, and that UTSA ended up in CUSA. . . . either would have been a fun hate.
