One of the dumbest border confrontations on the planet. Soldiers regularly get altitude sickness. I can't imagine there being any strategic value.

So Chinese troops appear to be less heavily armed than we had assumed.

That's about the extent of the military experience of both countries in the last 50 years.

I find it mildly amusing that two countries that posses nuclear weapons hold hands and throw rocks. That's taking restraint to a whole other level.
