2nd edition of ‘ Send the Staff home’:
We have had a very productive summer making new friends in season ticket members for our upcoming football season. In fact, we’ve successfully added more season ticket accounts this year than we did all of last year! With just under 6 weeks until our home opener against FIU, our staff has decided to challenge ourselves to achieve our weekly goal of season tickets in just one working day. The plan is to come to work tomorrow, Wednesday, August 16 and hit the phones, calling our fan base to seek their support by procuring season tickets, in turn helping us achieve our weekly goal in one day. We will come in with our sleeping bags and toiletries and won’t go home until we hit our goal.
We had a tremendous response from our fans last year when we undertook this fun initiative which was called ‘Help send the staff home’ and to build on the promotion we will wear our football helmets all day long as an extra form of motivation.
Throughout the day tomorrow, we will post updates on our social media.
Support from our alumni and fans in the form of season tickets is critical and demonstrates a special type of backing for our student-athletes. Season tickets start at only $90 for 5 games in the GA section (includes the Army game). 50 yard line seats are only $165. Season ticket members will also get a special invite to our Sydney Cup wine and watch party on August 26.
If you can’t make it to our home games you can still support our ‘Ticket Outreach Program’ which provides the underserved community of Houston an opportunity to experience Rice football. Fans donate a block of season tickets to the local underserved community like the Salvation Army, Boys and Girls Clubs and the Nehemiah Center of Houston through this program. Not only does this positively impact the game day atmosphere, but it also allows many kids to come to a university campus who have never been before. This has been a life changing experience to many. Season Ticket Outreach Program tickets are only $90 each.
