RE: Take down "racist" Theodore Roosevelt statue in NYC
I have no purpose to introduce political and social equality between the white and black races. There is physical difference between the two which, in my judgment, will probably forever forbid their living together upon the footing of perfect equality, and inasmuch as it becomes a necessity that there must be a difference, I, as well as Judge Douglas, am in favor of the race to which I belong having the superior position.
Our republican system was meant for a homogeneous people. As long as blacks continue to live with the whites they constitute a threat to the national life. Family life may also collapse and the increase of mixed breed bastards may some day challenge the supremacy of the white man.
Quotes from Lincoln. Let's take his statues down too. Also, half the government buildings in WV need to be renamed since they're named after Klansman Byrd (D).

I'm going to agree with Fit at the moment on the murderer yes, I call him a murderer.. because, so far, the videos I've seen have not shown the kid being under any threat.
Now that being said...
Fit, I'm going to dispute something you wrote:
Quote:I have my issues with BLM and Antifa but they didn't kill an innocent protester. They are not equal.
Oh yes they are... Again, go back and look at all the videos of the Antifa people beating the hell out of peaceful protestors. (and don't tell me you haven't seen them, they're all over the net..). They could have EASILY killed someone with some of their antics, we've just been fortunate they're not.
You've got people shooting officers, just because they're police officers, and stating that they support the policies that the BLM crowd has been promoting.
So to say they're not equal... that doesn't fly in ANY argument.

They're not equal in ideology. One side clearly has the moral high ground versus the white supremacists.
But they are equal in tactics. Both are espousing death to innocents. Whether one side or the other has truly caused more deaths to this point is subject to interpretation. Was the driver of the car on Saturday truly a KKK member? Was the person who shot the Dallas policemen truly a BLM member? But what is clear is that if these kinds of tactics continue, we are going to have a lot of deaths on both sides. These tactics are totally inimical to reconciliation.
What we need is a strong leader to bring about healing. What we have is Donald Trump. So far, he has shown himself to be totally unequal to that task.

I wouldn't worry about it. All of this is just trust fund kids, neo-hippies, commie wannabes, and neo-nazis with prissy clothes and hairdos playing at revolution while checking out how many "like" their outrage on their phones.
It won't get real until they all wake up one morning and find out that their country can no longer print free money for them and that they owe $30 trillion or so.
It could happen this September, but I'm hoping the can can be kicked down the road just past my exit.

This is exactly how Neo Nazis are recruited. They take one event and blow it up into an attack on their entire culture.
Scare tactics.
If we let them take down Robert E. Lee, next week it will be Thomas Jefferson and Washington the week after that.
This is why David Duke and the KKK are cheering. Because the President is using the same scare tactics and recruiting tools.

Ummm...
They ARE. They're demanding the removal of Teddy Roosevelt's statue. That's going above and beyond the Civil War.
Slippery slopes are real.

This is an interesting line of thought.
If we remove every statue of every imperfect person or cause we end up with nothing.
Personally, I find the suppression of truth surrounding the man and his era to be very telling. He's beyond reproach at this point in time, even if he was a drunk and liked to beat up prostitutes.
I don't think that is in itself enough to overshadow some of the positive aspects of his legacy but then again we seem to want to ignore positives from others in a quest to make sure they are forgotten.

yes and yes....as usual, well done!
sometimes, it's more effective to get a point across for others to do the due...IMO, it encourages absorption in ze brain vs. blinded tunnel vision
it's not surprising you were the one that responded.....again, well done!
edit: btw, I'm also with you about Teddy bear.....like DJT, he simply had everything to lose (in face), yet proved his value by attempting to help "all" become better men.....
there are reasons you, me, and UTSAMarine09 backed him out of the gate.....that would be one of them....

as the resident atheist, I 100% support anyone of faith that is becoming.....
do I joke about it at times???.....yep
do I sometimes use points that may offend 'said faiths'???...yep
do I ever denounce one's faith unless it involves violence.....nope
the point of all that is the "I".....which means, it's never about me in relative terms...unfortunately, "I" trying to find "we" is all most people can relate to....
hence, today's talking points being generated by the "lil' wee-wees"

I was thinking the following entities should change their names ASAP:
James Madison University
George Washington University
Washington DC
Washington State
Thomas Jefferson University (UPenn Med School)
Any federal building, park, program, or military asset with the names Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Jackson, Van Buren, Harrison, Tyler, Polk, Taylor, Johnson, or Grant
