Did you really say that with a straight face in a conference which has a football program that, despite having a head coach that is undefeated in bowl games, has a Top 25 finish, a conference championship and multiple division titles, defeated a Big East co-champion, has a multiple-game win steak against current Big 10 teams, and had three-straight 10 win seasons at a program that has finished ranked in 20% of its FBS seasons, is likely to fire its coach at the end of this upcoming season for "not winning enough"?

I would say that wasn't bad considering the season they had.

Take out the UofL game and it's close to 20k still not bad. More like 12k when Western played Marshall.

I miss the Marshall fans that love to tell us all how good they are.

One of the reasons we try to get P5 teams at home is to boost attendance. Doesn't make sense to penalize a team and adjust the #s to remove that game.

Of the 12k, how many were WKU fans?

One group of Marshall fans stood out to me. Those sitting around the 30 yardline on the home side (across from visiting fans) are hardcore fans. That section was 80% full which in my opinion was great all things considering. And most stayed till the end or late 4th qt.

There's not one of our schools that isn't limited in fan support...one way or the other. But each of us also have a group of fans we can always count on. Some of us just a smaller group...Western would have had 5k at a game like that

Every fan base is very fickle amigo. I can't imagine what ours would dwindle to if we have a bad season.

I do know I was there for every single loss during that horrendous streak to start fbs football. Some of those crowds (actual not sold) were very ugly. Those were some really hard games to attend. Especially when a couple of them could have been won to break the streak.

I hear ya. I was there at every game last year.. I'd have rather had invasive exploratory prostate surgery than go through another her season like last year. I never saw the day I'd see a Marshall team and staff just flat out quit. Not all of them, but teams are judged by their records.
