I'm all for Liberty doing well - for any school doing well. But it's not a surprise they're scheduling P5s. 1) they're independent, 2) there are many P5 schools near them.

You must not have been on the board when Liberty moved up. The SJWs assured us nobody would schedule Liberty. Some of us knew better.

They're also willing to give 2-1 deals and/or pay through the nose (and there's nothing wrong w/ that).

This^ there was a great debate that Liberty could make this work. I'll admit I didn't think they would. Most won't admit it though.....

Doesn't appear that Liberty expects a conference schedule until at least 2022.

Their schedule is filling up quickly. 2022 and later they seem to have reserved space for a conference season.

Guess they can always schedule UMASS and NMSU later for after 2022. Kind of expect Jax St, E Kentucky, JMU and Stony Brook and maybe more CAA schools to announce FBS in the 2020 time frame.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that finds this funny.

That South Alabama fan, Tom was the worst. He used to get so triggered when they announced they were moving up.

I was on the board, but I don't pay attention to people who talk poorly about others. As soon as they announced, it seemed like a lot of people were angry. Everyone has a right to disagree with anything and anyone, but wishing harm or failure or whatever is crossing the line.

That's not totally unexpected for an unaffiliated move-up.

They can stay in their region of nearby states and have a solid schedule of FBS schools: 3 in Virginia, 7 in North Carolina, 3 in South Carolina, 4 in Tennessee, 3 in Kentucky, 2 in West Virginia, 2 in Maryland, and 3 in Pennsylvania.

Good!

I was hoping there would be a new thread for every time Liberty schedules a game. Guess it's time to create 70 new threads, one each for every team that has scheduled a game in the past few months for some point in the future. 07-coffee3

Liberty and UMass have both done a good job of scheduling. I think you might see more teams go Independent to improve their scheduling. Schools like Boise State and Air Force may be better off being Independent. Gives them more freedom. Boise State can schedule more east coast P5 schools to increase their brand and get back into the Top 10 and take a shot at the playoff.

I'm surprised Tom hasn't posted on any of these recent LU threads. Wonder where he went?

Probably on the phone with South Alabama's AD asking why Liberty is able to get such a much more appealing schedule than them.

Any recent home and home's for UAB with local SEC's schools? I am not a fan of Liberty but it brings me joy to watch the SJW types bold predictions blowing up in their face. I think they are doing pretty good for a school with basically zero football tradition that is a recent independent move up. At this point, if Jax State moved up as an independent, they and the other indy's would be in pretty good shape scheduling wise. Idaho really **** the bed big time. Any chance of a reversal in Moscow?

And that makes them different than almost every other non-P5 school in what way? ODU has a 2 for 1 with UVA and a 7 for 6 series with VT.
