Question for WKU posters
With so many headings and posts regarding WKU on the CUSA Conference Talk section, why don't you guys ever post anything on the WKU section? I just went there to see what the latest was with your basketball news and no one has posted anything there since March.

I understand that your fans likely have another forum somewhere that they post on instead, but why not have it all under the conference's message board - CUSAbbs - for convenience, both for yourselves and for your conference mates?

You probably aren't alone in doing that, but I was honestly going to check the WKU section for your latest when I noticed that nothing much was there.

I think most of us have migrated from the Hilltopper Haven over to the WKUINSIDER on the Scout board. I dont know if anybody will ever use the CSNBBS board, probably more for privacy reasons

In other words they are one of the few fan bases that refuses to let anyone associated with other schools post on their board. By now you all have figured out why.

You can on the scout board , just not on the haven. Having the main site here would make it to convenient for others to jump in , the same reason MT don't have a active board here

RE: Question for WKU posters
I understand what you have stated about keeping it exclusive to WKU fans by having that other fan forum. What doesn't make sense though is that many times topics that are solely about WKU are started by WKU fans on the CUSAbbs Conference forum where all conference fans can chime in on. That seems to defeat the purpose of the other forum as stated.

I enjoy having WKU in the conference and also enjoy reading your thoughts about what is going on with your teams. In many ways we are all in this together since we are conference mates. It is just a lot easier to find things about the other schools when they are just a click away instead of trying to remember what forum they are using instead.

Edit: I feel similarly about other schools fans that don't have updated fan input on their school's CUSAbbs forum. In some ways it seems like just another thing that the conference teams (schools/fans) can't get together on.

Many of our fans are not as social and stick to the main board only, I personally enjoy mixing things up here 05-stirthepot

Speaking just for me, I can't even remember the last time I went to UTSA's CSNbbs page (lol). I'm sure it's been almost 2 years by now. My main 3 sites for sports social networking are here, http://www.rowdytalk.com/forum.php, and Twitter.

After going through the list of schools using the drop down menu above it appears that Old Dominion and Southern Mississippi are the only two groups of fans that use CUSAbbs as their main fan forum. Wish things were more centralized, but I understand. Guess it is kind of like having a comfortable pair of old shoes that you have enjoyed for years. It's hard to get rid of them and break in a new pair.

I did see some comment about the possibility of Niner Nation forum site going down. Don't know if that will actually happen, but hopefully if it did then the Charlotte fans would migrate over here as their replacement. It would make it easier to keep up with their teams as a fan from another school.

the majority of Western fans came up on Hilltopper Haven which was a private board created by one person. He pretty much always kept any outsider out. His board. His choice. He puts very little time into that board and it's gone down a couple times and each time I believe he lost posters because of it.

Most of those HH losses now post on Scout's message board. Which is a really shittty formatted board. They recently changed everything and it's not much better in my opinion but it's where pretty much everybody posts now.

It's a moot point anyway as message boards are dying. Mostly old folks on the message boards. Myself included. The majority of fans get their info from Twitter. It's how they keep up. I'll check it when something is breaking but I don't get on it often. I'm too verbose for Twitter. Can't limit myself.

When Scout switched over I brought up this place as a place to move to since there was already a Western forum.

Nobody really replied to my suggestion except for 518 who thought this board was too old or something like that. And Scout even though new is shittttier than this setup on a bad day.

Being in my early 60's, I guess that I too am one of those older types that you refer to Dahbeed. I don't use Twitter so again I guess that qualifies me to be among the group that you mentioned. I find the message boards useful and frequent them regularly. I also enjoy visiting other schools sites when there is something of interest such as an upcoming game with them.

I'm no old fogey but definitely a millennial luddite. I like the community without the pressure of traditional social media. I had fun on HH for a while as HoosierTopper but haven't jumped on Scout yet

RE: Question for WKU posters
It may irritate some but I like to see WKU topics on the conference board because I do click on them to see what people from other schools are saying and what their opinions are. I'm fairly introverted myself and don't post too often so I like it being centralized around other topics imo.

Hilltopper Haven was the board of choice crica 1998 to about 2014.....However last 2 or 3 years the board has not been maintained and you can barely even land on the site without tons of spy and adware...I don't think the creator of the board even maintains it now and hardly anyone posts there anymore including my dad who had to stop posing due to shutting his computer down....Now the most active board is WKUInsider on Scout...SOrry 247 now....Was much better before 247 took it over, had an app that worked great on your phone....Now its still better than HH but not as easy to use on your phone which mattered to me....This site is good but the app desperately needs to be updated and this board could use some updates as well...

I love Twitter and use Twitter too but seems like we have better conversations on here with other CUSA members....Beed the app for this board is not great, I agree Scout getting rid of the app is not good, was so easy to use from your phone, most people want to use their phone now to post even on message boards....Twitter you cannot get as in depth as you can on regular message boards...

back in the day, I was one of the few opposing fans that 'ole Haven let onto his site-- I think ArkStFan posted over there as well (at the time)

The Roost is populated by USM fans that congregated on what was "Eagle Post".

Rivals likely has the largest number of USM fan subscriptions/accounts.

Our Scout (247sports) board is growing and has more relevant content.

RE: Question for WKU posters
Yes, I missed UAB & Rice posters utilizing the CUSAbbs boards. Those two along with ODU and Southern Mississippi make a total of 4 that are regularly using this forum for their individual school. For the others we have to know the web address for where they like to post, and then obtain a password (if possible) to be able to post anything on their board. When schools fans are utilizing more than one other forum it is especially difficult to locate them about a particular topic.

WKU folks. I saw the news of Tanner Reeves arrest and dismissal for DUI. Was he expected to be a starter or contributor? I looked at his stats and it appears he played off the bench last year.
