Although I don't meet the limit of the investments to receive points, I definitely wouldn't be using foreign currency. My investments are in USD.
Overall, I don't have to meet any requirements to immigrate. I'm already an American citizen. Have been all my life.
Which part of it is nuts? Is it that you wouldn't qualify? The goal is to bring in young, highly educated immigrants who can be self sustaining. It's not a test for citizens who already live here so it shouldn't worry you whether you qualify or not. In fact, I view this proposal and your failing to qualify quite the opposite. I hope that the people applying and receiving citizenship are better than the average American so that we're improving the US, not detracting from its greatness.

Establishment politicians disregard the concern of most Americans regarding illegal immigration. Their strategy to stop illegal immigration is to shout "Comprehensive Immigration Reform".
This addresses legal immigration so we can shut up those who stand in the way of shutting down illegal immigration.
