Haha - you've gone through all stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression...and now acceptance, just win the damn things.

It's a New Orleans NAIA (maybe DIII?).. so I'll let this one slide. I don't like it, but I'll let it slide.

@ Michigan

Blue Mountain (part of Pentagon Showcase series)
@ Sanford Pentagon Showcase @ Sioux Falls, SD **games vs South Dakota, Youngstown St, Northern Colorado**

Who the heck is Blue Mountain? I guess it was part of a package with the Pentagon Showcase package? I Guess the other games might help make up for it.

@ South Alabama
Rust

WHO???? What the hell is a Rust?

Troy
@ Alabama A&M

Hell, I get the 2-1 thing if that's what it took.. but .. REALLY?

William Carey

This is probably the only NAIA game I actually don't mind being on the schedule. Again, one NAIA game vs. a nearby school I can live with.

@ Florida St
vs Mississippi St (played in Jackson, MS)

I really hope this was a sarcastic quote just made up out of thin air...
I guess my question is it Sadler getting these games scheduled or our Athletic Director?

Since he's been here, have we had a harder OOC schedule than playing at Michigan, at Florida State, MSU at a neutral site, and the defending winner of the Sun Belt's NCAA tournament bid? The crap teams are mega crap, but on the whole, which of Sadler's OOC schedules thus far were so much tougher that his statement is unreasonable?

Doesn't matter. Whole season comes down to 3-4 days in Frisco. Very, very tough to get an at-large bid in this league. MTSU won 30 games last year, beat Vandy and Ole Miss OOC, and got a #12 seed after running through the CUSA Tourney.

12 seed is actually a pretty favorable draw. A fairly easy path to Sweet Sixteen.

it beats the hell out of 8/9.....

it's amazing the hatred toward a man that is doing everything he can to resurrect a lazarus wannabe.....

just win the cake games.....have a decent season and win at least one of those road games, and people will begin to take notice....

hoops is untapped potential....

I'll give you the good teams, Harbor, so I probably should have toned down my statement..

But note we did play @FSu last year.. we played Miss St on neutral courts last year... so those come out of the comparison.

So we swap @LSu for @Michigan. Does that make the schedule that much harder?
South Dakota, Youngstown State, No Colorado vs. SD State, Stephen Austin, Hawaii : Push?

Although I think USA should be one of those teams we play in Basketball every year.. Local school, D1.. So I didn't really include them in my thoughts.

I think it was just how many of the WTF teams are on the schedule (But I've probably bitched about that every season our schedules are posted). (we only had two last year.. Tugaloo and Union).

RE: Basketball OOC announced
I would think there are a number of Southland, SunBelt, and other regional teams (from AL, TN, ARK, and LA) that would be happy to schedule games with Southern Miss... Troy, South Alabama, Georgia State, Georgia Southern, TN Chattanooga, East TN State, UT Martin, TN Tech, Ark State, Ark Little Rock, Central Ark, ULM, ULaLa, Tulane, McNeese, Southeastern LA, Nicholls St, Northwestern St, and UNO. If you expand into Kentucky, Texas and Florida, then you can double that number. South AL and ULaLa should be teams we play just about every year.

They might at USM, but at most schools, no they don't. That's why most schools have an AD and a few people in advisory roles.

This was though one of the big reasons Donnie Jones took another coaching position before the season was over at Marshall in 2010. Marshall got a new AD and took his scheduling away, in 3 years he scheduled 12 DII/NAIA games during the season. Since Donnie Boy has gone Marshall has played exactly 2 DII games in the regular season, both times we could not find a game.

But Mike Hamrick Marshall's AD with a few people that are around him does all the scheduling. Dan D'Antoni might have some input or suggestions on who he would like to play but he does not make the schedule.

And that's they way it should be.

Bingo. But no, lets bring in Blue RIdge Mountain Academy.

I know LE scheduled them as well, but sheesh. Bottom line....Sadler is trying to schedule wins to save his ass.

Interesting. Feel like in the past our ops guy has always had a big role in scheduling. In baseball, our ops guy and hitting coach do most of the scheduling from what I understand.
