Lawler vs Roddy Piper Fued from 1982
What almost was, but stopped short right as it was about to explode. Two of the greatest talkers ever in their prime. This wasn't long after Lawler was on Letterman with Kaufmann.

Piper ended up temporarily canned over some out of the ring problems, so it never came off.

Still, this is good stuff with Lawler in his prime on WCW programming being interviewed by the legendary Gordon Solie.

Actually Roddy had some of his best work in his Georgia days of the early 80's.

Piper was already at the peak of his prime when he signed with the WWF in 1984. These clips are from late 1982, Piper was a 14 year veteran at this point and well known as one of the best mouths in the business.

They even had him pulling double duty as a the color commentator while he was main eventing the territory..
