Way way way too many teams for a G5.
The WAC tried that years ago and eventually split and the remnants became the Mountain West. Bigger is not always better.

I think it was the only win. We had a running back that ran wild that day. Maybe Eric Becton, Richard Williams? I'm just not sure.

That always helps. I remember being away from town and finally seeing the box score with Larry Porter's 200+ yards against Arkansas St. I had visions of Tony Dorsett in my mind, lol.

Would you recommend purchasing tickets in advance or on game day? Current online selection is terrible.
Buy from the Tiger Ticket Office. If all Tiger fans sit in the same sections, we may actually have more in attendance than GSU. GSU has historically poor event attendance.
Lol. That would be impossible. You're not bringing 15k. Youre not Georgia Southern.

For sure we aren't GS in the SB - but you're right they have much better fan support that GSU. And it may be a stretch for GSU to get 15K to the Memphis game, 4K-5K is more likely.
You mean Memphis fans?

FYI, UCF starts a home-home deal with Ga Tech in Orlando next month. UCF returns to ATL in 2020.
Next year, Ga Tech starts a home-home-home with usf (Tampa 2018, ATL in 2019)
Because GT recruits FL...

No, meant what I said...we are far ahead of GS (GA Southern) who just happens to equally be far ahead of GSU when it comes to fan support. At this point GSU is smoke and mirrors when it comes to performance & fan support. Maybe GSU will make progress as you predict in those areas. For sure GSU has done amazingly well from the political view, to gain city, state & private financial support but at some point very soon GSU is going to have to have some success on the FB field & with fans to sustain what GSU has been given. And this has come to an urgency given the legislature has now limited by law the extent to which students can be extorted for activity fees to support the athletic efforts.

True but we've still been pulling pretty good home and homes lately. As a fan do I really care if its gatech or gastate. Meh

Agreed.
I'm more bothered with having a home-and-home with Monroe.

My point is you claimed there was a possibility of outdrawing us in our stadium. We have never had butts in n seats low enough to be outdrawn. But go ahead and prove me wrong. Lets see how many you bring.

By the way, a little known fact is that our original club football team wore cast off Memphis and Kentucky equipment 15 years ago.

Just a little exaggeration to make the point that GSU fan support is a weakness to your aspiring program. Your pride, promotion of & support for GSU are admirable but your sensitivity to stated reality makes you a target. Let's see if GSU can, in fact, stand on their own over the next few years, achieve the success you predict, or fall back into a survival mode that leads to a decision to abandon your D-1 aspirations & deemphasize the FB program - not much room for anything in between for any of us who are not benefitting from a lucrative P5 conference membership.

As much as like Larry Porter personally, that's the point, isn't it? You can see what happens to a program when the wrong coach is hired or a great coach leaves for a better job - both possibilities are a real concern (or should be) for those not receiving P-5 $$. And GSU at the low end of G-4 maybe a little more than Memphis in the AAC. Hope GSU can attract some Atlanta area fans & develop an alumni base that will show up & support your program, especially considering the high level of sports competition in Atlanta.
